View Full Version : Timeshift Clocks with Health Bars

This was a problem a while back, but had either gone away or was happening infrequently. Since the Tinderin elites, it's happening almost every time the spell is cast. Health bars on clocks tend to result in the following pattern throughout an elite run:

• Mages drop their Timeshift clocks

• Sometime shortly after, the clocks grow health bars

• Everyone's hitting the mobs, not realizing 2 of them are not real.

• The mobs die and everyone keeps hitting because they still see health bars.

• The players clue in, move on and tacitly agree to pretend nobody was actually attacking thin air

• The process repeats through the map and eventually everyone goes home a little embarassed and annoyed.

This is not a major bug, just really annoying. I don't know what triggers the health bars to show, or why they are suddenly appearing again, but figured someone should report it.

Thanks

Yes, it's a tad annoying and I believe it's been around ever since DoT's were changed to hit crits as well. Would be nice to have it removed some time around the new client.

Shadow veil AND traps have health bars now too.

This was not like this before the elite release, and is such a pain when you have so many of the dps skills making it look like there's twice as many mobs as in actuality.

This was a bug before they fixed and it came back...

tsk tsk tsk

Yes, I remember the original bug being fixed. I guess he snuck back in again.

I believe that this only shows up when a clock/trap is dropped into a Veil.

It seems like a silly, innocuous thing, complaining about these red bars on Clocks and Trap, but more than once, I've pierced right into a second pull when ordinarily, I would have avoided that group.

And, since I'm complaining...these Tindirin maps do a great job of camouflaging everything! It's difficult enough to see some of the mobs in certain maps, but, I swear, the red zones are completely invisible in Magma Corridor and Rockhorn Summit.

I dont know it for sure but it seems to me that, when im using Ethyl the hp bar on my traps appear (im not using veil). Its like the arcane ability is attacking the trap. I can be wrong i didnt do any tests. Maybe other pets arcanes does the same?

Uzii you're brilliant. Ethyl was actually the cause of another clock / trap bug, where they would disappear when cast. Very likely that he's learned a new trick.

Actually quite accurate but it wasn't ethyl on every case. Thinking back on it, runic proc could be the trigger for me.

So player-independent AoE effect patterns?

It is not ethyl. It is happening without that pet present. Confirmed.

It's a bit annoying, you believe it's a mob, but there's not
just the clock
