Hello,

After last patch I met a good friend of mine and we started to talk and while talking I got 3 or 4 of this orange msg o.O.

Thing is I didn't use any bad word. I was just typing in french... I didn't use any bad word in french neither.

@Lesrider French isn't a dirty language ! ;)

It was actually "who remakes" that did it. We're working on it. It's not perfect, we're working on it. Bear with us.

I work in risk management and fraud detection for a large online company. One of our teams is responsible for keyword detection (language, banned goods, etc). We have several techniques for parsing text. It looks like you're doing "strip and pack" (remove all spaces and punctuation, cram all the letters into one long word, and search for the bad words). This has proven to have the most false positives of our techniques. However the alternatives have problems as well. Another technique is pure word search. But this misses intentionally misspelled words and/or breaking words up (IE: stu pid who re). It's an ongoing battle and unfortunately I can't share our proprietary techniques. But I do feel your pain.

Why not just add a few in-game mod players?

Or just create an easier way for members to report users allowing the community to police the game. Then you could have different levels of filtering applied to members. Maybe the first level filters out the obvious stuff. And for things missed, if you receive 3+ reports from unique members in a short period of time (like 24 hours) then you go to a more restrictive filtering level for 24 hours. And if you receive 3+ more reports from unique members against you, your chat abilities are disabled (highest level) until the chat logs can be reviewed for further action against the account.

I said "This sucks" in a private message, and I got the warning. Then later, as we all died, I said "I hate this" and got another warning. Isn't this a little too restrictive? I know there are kids playing, but when we play with our friends in a locked game and in private messages, shouldn't there be a little more leeway in the language? It's not the same thing as standing in the middle of Towne and yelling profanity.

I'm sure they don't remain mod for long then, the mods are watched pretty closely in Rs. I'm a chat mod in Haypi Kingdom and all of our servers have chat mods. This has proven to have worked quite well in maintaing a appropriate and friendly chat, as well as helping players with questions. Deffiently has proved succesful for us.

In addition, since the in-game mods are players chosen by the game staff, it encourages people to act in a more friendly manner and help out others more in the chance that they themselves may be nominated/chosen for mod in the future.

Pluses and minus of course to having mods, from personal experience i've seen them to be quite effective though.

I'm Italian and I spoke in my language today with some friends and I wrote "banale" that in English means trivial
this word has been recognized offense in the banale and gave me the notice in question

"From crush the keeper" also gets you muted. Well, muted when you keep parsing sentence fragments to see what is generating the error.
Might "sh t" being parsed from crush and the inline causing it?

The last update was supposed to relax the filter a little bit. Let's see if it helps.
