The charge speed of Arcane staff is really slow, and the dmg of a charge attack is negligible .. I want a reasonable explanation

But obviously it's because of the awesome special Shadowflare skill, a high valued privilege of arcane sorcerers! What, no one uses it except from when charging out of boredom? Erm.. erm..

Don't get me started on this.

Well from what they've explained the charged attack also reduces armor on mobs (and players) so while the damage is less, you will deal more damage on subsequent attacks. Whether this works well in actual play situations is another story.

Where did you read this? This is the description on the arcane staff charged attack:

http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?112748-Realm-of-Shadows-Expansion-First-Look-At-Sorcerer-Arcane-Weapon

Charged Attack will 100% of the time cast a new Shadowflare spell. This is a shadow fireball with a chance to reduce enemy crit chance, and/or snare movement by 30%. It is an AoE spell with the area being equivalent to a charged fireball. This costs 0 mana, but does a little bit less damage than charged fireball. Charging takes 1.8 seconds.

Was suppose to be close to a charged fireball damage but its not even close. Like 50% less then a charged fireball. You're confused with the mythic staff which reduces enemy armor on proc.

I feel bad for the mages actually. Arcane is supposed to be OP. Just look at the maul! Still selling!

Arcane staff is selling too, just that it is not triggered by demand. It is people not wanting them anymore.

You completed my sentence. Ty.

Does anyone really charge the arcane staff ? -- The dmg is even less than normal attack, the charge speed is slower than any skills/weapons

Nobody charges the attack because the benefits don't outweigh the charge time or in reality not even the normal attack. I'm not sure what they are thinking about with this. The proc is straight up awful in all situations. Even turning shadowflare into a purple version equivelent to fireball would be better than this trash proc.

It's honestly upsetting that they dont care to do anything about this. Things like this not being addressed are going to hurt your avid player base.

LOL@this topic

It's not ever going to be fixed. Already lasted one expansion when it came out. This is your second expansion. The next probably will be the last.

Glad I sold mine when I had the chance. Do not regret it one bit.

Yes, it would be nice if this issue was resolved. I say get rid of the "no mana" feature and make the spell hit harder. Mages do not care about mana. We have so much of it we rarely run out, and in PvP where we cannot use mana potions almost all of us run with heal anyway.

Good one and straight to the point on how bad is this Arcane staff compared to other class.. Bravo!

I could see the charging time being reasonable if the proc happened 80% of the times or higher. Right now it's a joke.

STS can you look into changing the normal attack skill "mana regen" and change to " health regen" ? We do not find this process useful in using the arcane staff which is an issue since the last season !
