Inspired by this topic (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?147647), asking about the egg we retrieved from the giant ice spider's (Frostbite's) nest two seasons away, some ideas that sounded good:
Madnex's ideas:
What if the egg hatches to be some kind of ground-digging spider and then they open the front of the tent only to see a dark hole dug on the ground that actually leads to the underground arcane city (eg. Darkaeneth) as next expansion?
Suggested mobs would be underground spiders and aggressive scorpions, ground-drilling armored worms, dark elves with bows, short dwarves with axes, cave monsters (underground cave crabs, golems and serpents) and of course huge trolls chained by dwarves!
Additionally, enemies and possibly bosses should not be bound by the past movement/behaviour limitations! Let's see spiders running on the walls or armored worms drilling right beneath you (with mini red zone for warning) or scorpions ambushing from beneath rocks! Imagine a giant spike-armored worm for a boss, a three-headed serpent beast or a giant earth golem that can animate rocks to lower-class enemies!
Some map names - with bosses:
Map 1: Dark Path - Ghothral & Faruth (chained troll brothers)
Map 2: The Bottomless Well - Schraad'fer (spike-armored gigantic worm)
Map 3: Miner's End - Aethalus (black, earth golem)
Map 4: Arsenic Pits - Deleterium (huge, purple and poisonous serpent)
Map 5: Gates to Hell - Cerberus (self-explanatory!)
The world map is full, I believe it's obvious they're going to pause putting out expansions every four to six months. So let's get creative and make the next one even more amazing! :)
Sceazikua's ideas:
This seems like a cool idea! :)
A good effect that may make it interesting may be some mobs can hide underground and randomly shows up dealing damage to an area and continue to attack that area, even the ones rooted can do this so it is harder.
And maybe make them less tanky than other elite mobs because they can do good damage, but they are immune to critical "because of the fast movement"?
Another kind of mobs maybe ranged ones, whose normal attacks do no initial damage but huge dot to a small area around the target, maybe not stacking. This would make tanks more viable because if noone holds agro, the party of sorc and rogue may die because of the lesser hp they have. :)
Just some neat ideas towards where we feel like seeing the game to go. :)
