If you can afford it, go str/dex. It's better in the long run because you can beat rhinos and foxes much more consistently. Here's a guide I made awhile back. It's still relavent and I update it every once in a blue moon or so...

I don't think so. Yeah it can clear roots, but that's not generally something that determines the outcome of the match.

Pretty much, you have to maximize the most damage you can do in little time, but since its str/dex, you'll have more survivability and less dmg.

Personally I think a bird's weakness is having no deroot except for avian scream. You're kinda helpless when you're stuck, you lose the ability to kite.

Yeah I suppose this is true. It just seems to me that you have to give too much up in order to obtain that ability to deroot.

Yup, and this is the dilemma with birds. Either you give up points for avian scream, or commit the points to something else. All classes have this type of problem, and I kinda like it because it gives you choice, variety, and playstyle potentials. Ahh, the beauty of PvP.
