View Full Version : What I've Learned As A Noob

This will be a work in progress of things I've learned since I've started playing that I would have liked to have known when I first started. Such as questions, terms, etc. No idea how long it will take me, but I'm open for suggestions from everyone!
(This was also my first ever MMO, so this might help those people too)

No real order to start out with.

PVP (PvP) - "Player versus Player" : Never done it myself yet, so a good description would be appreciated

PVE (PvE) - "Player versus Environment/Environment" : When a player battles through a level against NPC (non-playable character) enemies.

CTF - "Capture The Flag" : You play alone or on a team, trying to capture the other teams flag which is located at their base. Once you capture their flag, you bring it back to your base. The first team to do this wins.

Pinks - "Pinks" refer to the color of the rarest items. An items rareness goes by color.
Starting from the most rare to the most common. Pink, Purple, Green, Orange, Grey, White.
Blue are vanity items.

Farming For Gold / Farming For Items - "Farming" refers to going through a level, usually several times to do nothing more than earn gold or to try and earn loot. This is usually done by higher level players in lower level dungeons to move through the level quickly and with ease.

Tank - A tank refers to someone who places almost all their skill points in to strength so they can wear the best armor possible, making them act like a "tank" in battle, meaning they'll take little damage.

Liquidation/Liquidating - This refers to selling items, usually excess equipment such as whites and greys to make gold. This is often done after "farming" for gold when you'll end up with lots of extra items you have no need or want for.

Intelligence - Adding skill points here will increase the damage of your spells, and for all classes, it will strengthen your restore

Dexterity - Adding skill points here will increase the accuracy of your weapon when used and increase your critical hit chance

Strength - Adding skill points here will allow you to carry heavier weapons, use better armor, and increase your health

Hybrid - When one character class puts skill points in to something their class isn't designed for. The below examples should provide a good understanding of a hybrid.

These are forms of hybrids:
Paladin - A mage with most of their skill points in strength
Clever Birdy - A bird with most of their skill points in intelligence
Strength Birdy - A bird with most of their skill points in strength
Bow Bear - A bear with most of their skill points in dexterity

Twink - Purposely leaving a character at a lower level; usually for PvP

*Buying health and mana potions in bulk will save you gold in the long run, so if you can hold out for awhile, do so.

There's much more, which I'll continue adding randomly. If you see something wrong, please let me know! I wish to help, not pass along false information ^_^

Paladin = a str mage
Clever birdy = Int Bird
Str Birdy = self explanitory
Bow bear = dex bear

And these fall under the category of Hybrid !!

Richie ftw! Would you care to give an explanation of "hybrid" so I don't make a fool out of myself trying to explain? It'd end in disaster lol

Hybrids are basically people who put attribute points in something there class isnt designed for .... basically what you said paladin was first of all ... Hybrid is the correct word ... a paladin is a hybrid

Until today, I did not know what Twink was.. And even now I don't know. What's the point of being a Twink then?

One thing though, int only effects the mages spells, on the other classes it only strengthens the "restore" when they use it. Dexterity also changes the crit and accuracy of your weapon, str also can bring high armor at points. Fun fact: Dexterity, can give you H/S:D

Yeah, I'm really not sure. The only thing that makes me think I'm correct is that all the people who say "add my twink" is referring to a lower level character they have. I would like some clarification on this term :)

Thank you! I will get this info up there!
