View Full Version : This is why I haven't been on PL lately

I had this project to do as an art final for school (semesters over yay :) ) and of course I did it all last minute.
The project was to do a series of 6 works in any style we'd like but all revolving around one theme. My theme of choice was stringed instruments.

They were all done in charcoal. The most ****ed up looking ones were severely rushed (won't point out which, it's too obvious lol). This was for my fundamentals of drawing class and I've never worked with charcoal outside of it. It's not precise AT ALL (I used block charcoal not the pencils)
I hated it and I hope to never touch charcoal again :)
Hope you guys enjoyed my work :).
I'll get back on the requests in too sick of drawing ATM :)
Tomorrow night I'll do all or the mojority of requests.

Wow looks really good.
I jus hate the feeling of charcoal on my hands. And all the rubbing you do with it. Ouch. Can't really avoid it as an artist, tho, can you ;)

This was more of a get this class over and done with to get to the fun stuff type of class. My main life goal is to be a cartoonist. No more charcoal :)

Red, that is VERY impressive, any tips on shading, or a steady hand would be welcome. I fancy myself as a wood be artist ; )

So.... Max, you plan on drawing for spacetime studios any day? Lol, soon you might be there cartoonist/artist and your icon will be replaced with the PL logo shield, and I'll be like "HEY, I knew this guy! He was a pretty chill dude." In all seriousness though, that is some pretty awesome artwork, something I could probably not accomplish considering I am a bad artist :p. We all have our varied talents :P.

Psh I wouldn't mine doing some work for PL either ;) I'm gonna make a new thread now with a bunch of my art.

I bet I can draw better! I make straighter lines then you do, not to mention more precise. Oh yesss..... I use a ruler to draw my stick people so they are nice, straight, and even.

Wow, nice. Charcoal is so annoying, but you managed to do an amazing job with all the shading! I like the top left one a lot. ;)

It's the only one I put effort into since I did it like the day we got the final. All the other ones I did 2 days before the due date. We had a month to do 6 and I did 5 in that short time haha. it's also my absolute favorite creation of all time :)
