Switching characters in a game

I am not sure if anyone suggest this before, or if it is ever possible.

But if an option like switching character during a game played is possible, would it be great? (Didn't see this in Diablo or WoW)

Just my thought.

Or just combine all the classes into one so they can tank, dps, and rev...oh wait, mages can already do that.

That is not recommanded for MMORPG games. ;)

I don't think you get what I said...mages are already an all in one class you can pwn everything with a full group of mages.
