51: Bird or Mage?

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about going back to 51, since it was so fun.
I'm choosing between a bird and a mage.
Bird, reason is only bird I have above 50 is my endgame bird, where its not too balanced, so I can play a bird in a balanced level and learn how to play bird better.
Mage, reason is, I don't have a mage twink anymore since dmg Nerf, and I want to learn more and play more with this class.
So could people list the pros and cons of each? I'm not asking which is the best.

Mageeeee plsplsplspls we need moar pures. :)
And the pros are:
- we can match with pretty much any class.. you can also beat some 56s if you're good
- Its a support and nuke all in one!
- A mega mage set is REALLY cheap now and is better than shadow set if ur pure
Cons:
- if you're against a bear its a hard time :/ but that's for everyone I think
- a bit squishy

(Use the royal helm/armor/sewer king bow one and I'll give ya a home boy hook up on the gear)

Yeah if I went mage id use laars guide, for bird id use micahs.
Mage would be easier to level as its easier to solo, and I have a 35 mage to lvl to 51

All for one, and one for all.
