Yes it changes your password. Check your email, there will be a new random password waiting there. You need to use it to login at least once and then you can go change your password back to what it was from the Spacetime Nexus through the Modify Account option.

That's why you should create an email that you really use. I have seen many people who use random emails to make accounts, and if you did the same , you could have lost everything.
