Okay I been playing this game since season one.. Quit for a year after dead city expansion with about 2.3m which was extremely rich back then.. I come back about 6 months ago and see people with like 100+m.. I am just curious to how you guys gained that much money? Locks? Merch? Because I know farming elites or locks won't get you no 100m that's for sure. See I am a Plat buyer so I can open locks and got lucky on a glacian and hj loot but I am still no where near rich now in this game like some people. Just curious to know how many u opened or what u had to do to become that rich. Hope to hear some pointers!

100m mark is possible from merching, but the real game changer is opening locked with real money.

I was dead broke in August of last year after buying a Lunar pendant to complete my level 30/31 mythic set. Since then I have not made any large purchases and have continued to merch and farm and sell every item I farmed. I have not opened any locked crates nor have I purchased any items for plat and then resold them for gold (i.e. Grimm/Ripmaw eggs or elixir kits)....

So in the 10 months that have elapsed since then, I have saved 41m and I easily have another few million worth of "investment" items in my inventory. So yes, it is possible to make a ton of money by farming or merching, but you really have to put in a lot of time. I'm still not even close to rich enough to buy an arcane ring, and I'm torn between the idea of saving for the ring or giving up and instead buying a samael egg (my only arcane pet is hammerjaw). For now I'm just saving and intend to see what is coming later this season.

Not entirely true. I've spent 30,000 +/- platinum on crates and never looted a mythic or arcane item.

So options 4-5 may work just not for everyone.

To anyone who has seen me in-game and wondering how I got any items in this game. Ive been playing since season 1 so I have all platinum vanities that where ever available. You may ask why Generalzod has Glacian (my only arcane item) cause I quit season 1 and came back level 36 cap (whatever season that was) and sold my heraldic sets for 13 million and bought mythic armor and Glacian.

I'm just letting everyone know that you don't have to spend thousands of real world dollars in this game to be rich. I'm the perfect example of that.

This is not a bragging post (trust me my kdr is horrible to be playing since day one. People call me out all the time on it). I'm just hope people don't believe that you have to spend real money to actually become rich in this game.

I suggest everyone take their time learn the market and merch properly.

Without spending real life money you can easily make gold by farming and mearching,many people make gold in this way....it's pretty easy once if the momentum starts.

OPTION 1:Crate lottery, this is how most people earn midas touch plain and simple.
OPTION 2:Elite golden chest lottery, the far less explored option but also possible if extremely lucky.
OPTION 3: There is no option 3

After adding everything I own I've realized that I've made over 150mil by doing #2 and 3 without ever buying plat(not lying). I might be the only one but it is possible :) become a pro mercher...not everyone can do this though, it will eventually ruin the economy

Level up fast on a Level Cap Expansion. Run Elite EARLY for the pink loot (Use Elixir, Kits, Lepre). Your will be rich just by farming Elite. The older Expansion becomes, the less worth are those pink loots. So hurry up for the Midas Touch :)

Of course if you open them all once you will loot a arcane or mythic item but i believe the 30k plat was accumulated time by time so it can even happen that if he periodically open little number of crates he doesnt loot anything good.

This. I use to open around 100-300 when there was a double odds weekend. The 30,000 platinum has been an accumulation since season 2 (21 cap). Yes I have the worst luck in this game.

Yes I agree with Ninja.
It's possible if you're ready to invest much time for this game.

I use platinum from free offers only for plat-exclusive pets (and some for auction and inventory slot, before it was made purchasable via story token).
I never use it for opening locked crates, elixirs, kits, revives, vanities, eggs, etc.

So, I first started merching on around September (around 1 month since I was first playing) and until now, I've accumulated more than 250m net profit.
Scarletrainn and Revsanrrogue are 2 other friends of mine that also reached Midas Touch by merching only :)

:( that's why Samael went from 17m to 27m in a few weeks. Too many merchers around increasing prices of items that aren't worth that much- also less people are opening locked because arcanes are so rare which is why arcane shards went from 55m to 95m. supply is much lower than demand right now so it's a bad time to merch. Can't wait for that new arcane pet :)
