Timed runs with flower circlet

Are the new timed run records on the leaderboards going to remain after the mothers day event? This is another potential situation in which records will be set and will potentially never be beaten (remember a change to the timers in season one?). Probably not as big of a deal for timed runs that require end game characters, but for runs that require lvl15 characters, a 15 point stat boost in the primary stat is a big deal (I think about 4 damage or about 3% of damage for a mage). This is more than the stat boost one gains from Grand gemming one's gear. I know new gear may come out later in the season making this not an issue, but if not, I have to strongly object. This may prevent people who want to compete in these runs later in the season from doing so. I know a few people may have spent some time putting up records this weekend, but I think STS should wipe all records that were set over the weekend event to keep everything fair for people later in the season.

I was specifically referring to lvl15 timed runs for which new mythic and arcane gear will have no effect (except perhaps for a new arcane pet, although I doubt one will add an additional 15 points in a character's primary stat on top of what current pets provide).

How do you know the spring event won't have new gear for twinks? I specifically heard (repeatedly) on meet the mods that any one of any level can farm these portals. So I suggest you listen to the vid if you haven't because it would not surprise me if new twink gear was being added.

I'm pretty sure new twink gear will be here sooner then later. Otherwise whats the point of people of lower level farming these new portals. Whether or not its better then tarlok we will have to see. And nothing wrong with discussing it on the forums. :)

There will be a spring event coming, new mythics gears will also be released then same goes with new gears for all levels as what remiem said in mods hangout .. Plus the time records set now I think is still beatable .. As for the end gamers atleast

Hard to speculate what new gear will be like. I mean at lower levels the thresh hold between tarlok gear of say 10 is prolly better than other legendary gear of few levels higher. So new better gear might widen the overlap. I'm not saying I'm against new better gear but when is too much too much?

Back to topic one could speculate they will reintroduce temp stat vanities later in season also which would be nice to make a small weekend event

Let's hope it's not "better" than tarlok but different. Tarlok seemed all damage oriented, and in most cases is the only armor/helm for twinks that has a damage stat. How about they release something now that's more defensive oriented. Or they could go a different route completely and do weapons or rings, instead of helms, armor and amulets. Considering tarlok has only been out a short time, I don't know that it would be wise to render it useless already. You may have a lot of annoyed people who invested a lot of money in those items.

Rav is right though, the pet spamming fix will call for a wipe of the boards anyways, so it would make sense to just do it once when that gets here.

Considering there was nothing done for PvE and CTF flags capture leaderboards after their fixes (which actually crippled anyone from ever reaching those now), of course there won't be any actions taken for the sake of a much smaller issue like circlet's +15 main stat.

And rav is correct, there's been a lot of pet spamming in the last three campaigns' timed runs on elite.

I'm sorry but I've discussed and played with most of the elite record holders and I've seen their tactics - specifically, a large part of the warriors would moderately spam sam on banishable mob clusters and kelvin/george on bosses. Now I'm not going to argue if and how these methods are cheap because timed runs are not of any interest to me. However, this would also explain the uneven/abnormal time gaps when comparing pure with elixir runs in some maps.

And for the most part its the same few people with some exceptions and I've played with all of these people. I'm on 16 out of 31 pure elite maps, 24 of 31 enhanced maps. I don't see your name anywhere on these recs. So I think I know a little more then you do how these recs are set. So just because the people you play with spam Samael, doesn't mean we do this to set recs. And you have to ask yourself, if we are beating people who are spamming Samael, then why are people wasting their time doing this. So you don't know what you are talking about.

Thank you for you prompt response. It probably won't make too much of a difference this time for reasons as Haligali outlined above, but I think it is something you should keep in mind if you are planning on hosting similar events with temporary stat boosts. I am just trying to help you to prevent another season one timed leaderboard debacle from happening again (http://www.spacetimestudios.com/showthread.php?78344-Thank-you-sts!). In order to spam sam, the player spamming has to stop hitting the mobs, and their sam is busy being re-summoned, so he's not hitting them either. When you remove a player's damage AND their pet's damage from a team on a 5% chance of banishing, you are pretty much guaranteed to have a slower run. Same goes for spamming ribbit etc. In order to achieve fast times, you need every team member hitting, and hitting hard.

I know of some people who have tried to spam to get recs, I highly doubt that any of them ended up with banners last season. Still, would only be fair to wipe the boards after that fix. It would not hurt anything, since right now so many people are bored that motivation to re-set some times would be good, no matter the cause.

I hope you are keeping an eye on this sts and keeping an open mind or at least have some sort of solution in mind.

You should take into consideration that twinks weren't meant for the leaderboards anyways... Asking to revamp the leaderboards because of this is just the same as asking for the flag update not to affect twinks. If the level cap was 10-20 or something, and we had this same issue, I'm sure there would have been a revamp.

Fyi, samael isnt the ideal on most of the maps, but i let you what you want to think rather, than giving out seasons experience. However, when we wipe out full arcane ring teams without ring, people may think legitimately 'omg how they do it, it must be pet spam'

lol. high lvl timeruns can get how fast you hit and how fast you run with your team. its not based on dmg unlike low level dmg is very important.
