best weapon ive ever used and currently use is

flaming sword of legend (purchase with plat)

39-43 damage, 0.9 speed, 7 str. 2/hs
+ chance of additional FIRE damage!

i have 71 dps wielding it and im an enchantress

theres some swamp rats croc tooth sword or sumthin that u loot in the swamps thats ment to be good to but i havnt looted it yet

so you could have just added "or best shield" to your original post.

I'm going to have agree with Violentsaint if we're talking DPS wise- the flaming 1h swords usually yield the most DPS for str required 1h weapons.
