Macbook Pro

I'm planning on getting a macbook Pro 2013 model with retina display. However, I Find it very expensive compared to even very good ultrabooks. I'm here to ask, is it worth the price? Is it even good? Some say you only pay for the coolness factor.
If you think its bad could anyone suggest good devices I can use at school and also at home for my enjoyment?

I think its worth it
its only 3 pounds
has a really bright backlit keyboard
Good phone tech support
Good trackpad (I've tried the trackpad on HP Elitebook 9470M, not as great as MBPr)
Good camera
Can boot into Windows 7, 8 and possibly any other OS
Fast
