Since the client update, the keyboard on ipad mini is super glitchy. 90% of the time when I try to type something, the first letter doesn't register. I thought it was just me for a while, but it's a definite issue. I don't know if this is anything to do with the changed keyboard display that has been reported, but I am curious if any other IOS users are experiencing the same thing. I have no problem in any other apps or anywhere else, so might be something to look into.
The key that is pressed remains in a pressed state but the letter won't appear in the text entry dialogue box. It's like someone put peanutbutter in a keyboard, but it's a pb-proof entity.

Did u wait until the animation for the keyboard to pop up finished?
Thats usually what happens when i try to type on my iPad2.

Yeah, it doesn't care if I wait, it just doesn't want to spit out the letters. I never had this problem before the client updated, now it's every time I try to type in game. Works great everywhere else. Forums, internet, I can even do minor code adjustments on it for work, but in AL it's messed up.

Yep it's happening to me too.
1. The keyboard takes somewhat long to pop up and start to function. If you wait, the first letter does register (for me anyway)
2. On second opening, the keyboard pops up faster. When you play a bit then open keyboard, it's slow again.
I am on iPad3 so while not high-end, it's not so slow.

Yes, is the first thing you try to input when the keyboard pops up that is the issue. Once the error has happened, the rest of the words are usually fine, until you stop typing, go do something else, and then try to do something with it again.
Trying to take gold out of stash results in trying to pull out "0000" gold. Posting stuff for sale.... 11500 comes out as 1500... ugh
I know the devs said the ios keyboard is theoretically separate, but something definitely changed between clients.

All iOS users are having this problem. My iPad Air keyboard is super laggy in game. Pretty annoying tbh

Same here! I'm on ipad 4 and when I type the first letter it doesn't register! I thought it was just me yesterday so rebooted my ipad. And it's soooo laggy when you bring up the keyboard!

Pretty much the same thing happens to me with my Ipad mini. I have yet to test it out on the ipad air and see what's up. Thanks for bringing this up Serancha!

Yup me too. Don't have this problem on the iPhone, only my iPad mini.
Ughhhhh. Please dont tell me another client update is in the near future. My data usage is tight as it is! XP

Maybe you could try and update to 7.1.1? According to this source: Arstechnica (http://arstechnica.com/apple/2014/04/apple-releases-ios-7-1-1-with-further-touch-id-keyboard-improvements/), it can improve keyboard responsiveness. The article states: "fixes a bug that could impact keyboard responsiveness".
I'm on 7.1.1 on my Air too and don't experience that lag.

I am on 7.1.1, and still happening every time I open the keyboard. Not goingg to buy an air just so I can type properly again...that's just a bit too insane even for me.

i have this keyboard glitch on ipad 4 and also tested it on ipad 3, both on ios 7.1.1 right now i am typing space as first character. it s really annoying, especially when listing in cs / trading.
all started with the new client.
