Unable to upgrade mythic helm

One of my friends is unable to upgrade his mythic helm because he completed the quest while his helm was in his stash. After the long process of saving and doing all the quest (looking for shards) his helm is not upgraded because of one mistake in the process.
He cannot get the quest back from jerril because the game show that he has already completed it. The armour is upgraded but the helm is not. Is there anyway of solving this problem beside buying another garb and starting over again. My friends name is Carnivine in the game. If anyone can help please respond.

Everything worked out. The problem was solved after writing to space time support in about four days.
