Shady & Surge vs Egg Whim?

Hello just wondering if the new twins are better than the old twins. They both sound really good to me but what are your thoughts?

I feel that whims are still better in PVE due to the amazing armor reduction they have coupled with some pretty intense damage. The pools, I feel, will really not be all that great.

New arcane pets always have better base stats then the older one, Whim is very good on mage just it lacks crit but then still good overall.

The pull AA of whim makes them better for me.

I think the Whims thrive more in a party setting while the new twins will more benefit the individual .
