What is KOTR?

King of the Ring is an Annual Anniversary PvP Death Match Event sponsored by Families of The Apocalypse. It is intended for the level capped Dark Legends PvP players who seek a fun event (since STS has seemed to give up on us...lol) and of course bragging rights!!

How does it work?


Registration for the tourney opens today and runs until AUGUST 9th, 2014. Unlike last year where it was Guild -vs-Guild this year we intend for solo players to join teams and practice a little before the tournament.....we want splice 'n dice weapons and vampire killers everywhere!!

Players who sign up for the Tourney will be randomly placed on a team. The randomization is done through a computer generated program so there is no human influence on the outcome. The player simply needs to select a time zone while signing up to insure they end up on a team that plays within their respective time zone. Each team will have have a designated time and date to play. Once you know your match time and fellow team members it is recommended that you get to know them better and if possible take time to practice together.

If you need to cancel your registration, contact us. After the teams are made you realize that you cannot play at a particular time, please let us know so that we can move you to a team that plays as a time in which you are available.

Prizes & Awards

The Kings of The Ring (1st place) will receive 10 million gold, to which 2 million will be given to each player, AND complete bragging rights;

The Runners Up (2nd place) will receive 5 million, with 1 million to each player; and a good handshake for the competition!

What is the game-play like?

It's a classic Death Match tournament. Randomization of the teams will be done by Challonge.com.

Registration ends July 21st....what are the planned dates for he actual tournament?

The actual tournament will begin when the registration closes and a computerized randomizer creates the teams. So you can say about a week when the registration closes.

ALSO, INSTEAD OF HAVING TWO TEAMS AS KINGS OF THE RING, THERE WILL BE ONE, AND THAT ONE TEAM ACQUIRES 15 MILLION FOR WINNING. We realize that there can only be ONE king of the ring :)

The intention is that solo players sign up, but if many people from one guild want to play, one person can sign up the rest of the group. then, it'd be the responsibility of that one person to keep the others up to date. most guilds just sign-up induvidually, as its easier. and people who sign up from a guild may not get put all on the same team.
