Heya folks!
Like everyone I like when something new is added, even more if it's free. What I don't like is the look of the cyber and elite lvl 50 pinks look. They look like the glumdoll custom armour just with a different colour (and concerning the weapons/shield just a revisitation of old and already seen items). I propose to cast an art contest to decide the new looks for these two sets (I still have in mind the Tron-Style armour which looks sick :))

Suggestion delivered.

EricB had some awesome designs.
I agree, the cyber stuff and this stuff is just old rehashed designs. And not even different ones for each set. So every single player looks the same.

No more art contests....We have had a weapon one, and a helm one, we need something original. Not to mention a contest is going on as we speak. -1.

What's wrong with a design contest? Maybe the devs are too busy to design stuff themselves...

There has been 2 of them already, so very repetitive, and the devs say they look for design over drawing skills, but when push comes to shove, presentation helps in a long run. SOOOO much controversy and arguments happened the last contests. In the helm contest, people were making multiple forum accounts, just to vote for themselves. People were aggravated because some payed others to vote for them and advertised in town. During the weapon design contest, the devs chose their 3 favorite designs, and let the community vote amongst them. People complained about devs not picking the right ones, or favoring over certain people. Votings came in and people complained and made up stories about others cheating and how bs it was.

All in all, art/designing competitions are getting so old, and cause so much trouble. I am tired of seeing the same contests, and ones that require skills that only some have. Like the video contest, it is a smart idea, but few have the software, experience, and skills that some have. Considering it is a kids game I doubt kids know how to properly record and edit a video well enough to beat someone that has experience and a skill in that category. I realize everything takes some talent or skill to an extent, but I do wanna see something more so that is NEW, and that everyone can enter in for a fair shot.

Then here's an idea. I nominate EricB's designs -- no contest. I don't think he'd argue if the devs used his designs. I don't think anyone would argue.

theres no need for contests... i think many ppl would send for free any new ideas to sts... when sts implement them, they simply should give some items to the designer... thats all and cost nothing...

Well, devs would want to use his designs, which I am sure they have seen, and they probably haven't confronted him about them, as far as asking to use them. Well, I haven't heard anything. Also, he would have to agree for the devs to use the designs himself, by giving them full (can't think of the word right now:/ lol) "creative use" of the designs.

Ya i think thats much better, simple and you get to be the first customer to get ;)

Yep, agreed. We need more variety anyway. A contest would only introduce a couple of items, when we really need a LOT of new designs.

Ehh, you're making it sound like, just send the devs a pic of an item you drew and get it implemented, and get one yourself.

If devs really wanted to, they should make a thread for people to just post stuff they designed, and by posting it there, they are giving the devs the rights to use the designs. Whether or not the person gets the item, I don't know. It would be very cool though.

A dev would have to make the thread though, so don't go make one after reading this :p Since devs need to use their legal team to basically write up (like they do for contest rules) saying they give devs full rights to the designs and what-not.

I originally intended a contest just because it was already done so maybe was an easier approach to deliver our suggestions. For me it doesn't change its goal: deliver STS with our ideas.

Here some ideas on Cyber Armour (I'm not good at drawing so here some screens):

Yeah I know you want a contest. But I'm lazy...

My thoughts: both of these latest sets are black...too dark. Standing around town all the 50s looks like an army of evil. Which is fine if that's what you're goin for..

But I liked the void/rift/cosmos colors. I'm a hero and I wanna look like it. When I wear those sets I actually get noobs telling me how cool I look lol...because everyone else is just wearing black.

Also, maybe have some slight return to the medieval design of earlier parts of the game?
