I hope this is in the right section, though i can't imagine this fitting under the trader's market section.
So one thing I've wondered about for a long time is why that there are always locked crates on CS for rediculous prices (1M+).
Why is it that people do this?

Hu. I'ld think that the 5% listing fee would refrain people from doing so.
(Listing deary for 8M costs him 400K)

It more scamming than showing off... people buying quickly accidentally buy for those prices and are stuck... I think they should be banned for doing it but I guess technically it's not against the rules but it should be.

Hmm, sounds like a difficult practice to do something about.
STS can't refund the buyer and they can't sanction the seller.

In myth, those locks dropped from elite boss thus have more chance of getting the goods, must be another AL superstition. Calling mythbusters.

Haha, a locked is a locked. There's no difference between them.

They want people to accidentally tap the "Highest Price" arrow or the "Random Listing" arrow and buy their locked thinking that it was the lowest price. It may sound confusing.

I get what you're saying.
I'ld to know how succesful this practice is though, I can't imagine this working all too often. It's impossible to say.
But people are doing it so it must net a profit.

It's a trick to catch the unwary
I always figured it was people without any friends to help them transfer gold between characters.

That's what I used to think, like plus a year ago, too.

I used to think the ones at higher CS prices had better luck at getting better items..

Not true, but the locks that I sell guarantee you a +0.00% chance of looting an ARCANE ITEM!!! WOOT!!! So if you see me sell a locked you want to grab it fast!
^-^ lol
Who would not want to be an instant millionaire?lol

Its not really scamming :P
Maybe the seller truly believes he hears an arcane item jumbling in the crate?

You have to pay 5% of the price as a fee to list it. The deary on CS for 8 M costs 400 k to list it.

Haha, that's a good one!
I'm interested, does it works? If it's right, everyone of us can list locked for 1mln+ and become rich xD
I don't believe someone can list items with huge price to only stash gold :) 8mln Deary is on for about 2 days. When a player stashes items, it takes a few minutes..
