View Full Version : Delayed typing on iPad mini and disappearing PMs

When chatting on an iPad mini, letters take a while to appear on the chat window. It feels somewhat like the delay in typing using the old Wordstar, or even slower (I'm sure teenagers cannot relay to this). I've only asked one other ipad mini user and he has the same issues.
I think others have also complained about PMs not being received, even if appear on the sender's screen. It has also happened to me in normal (same map) chat. A friend thought I was ignoring him because of this bug.
I'm sure this is minor, with all the hoopla about Nekro. Just need to report.

Yeah and the first letter you type only appears like 5% of the time. It's so damn annoying. You can tell an ios player because their sentences are always cut off at the beginning. I posted a bug report on this also. Started with the new client update.

I didn't notice that, Sera. The typing lag is rather infuriating and gets me killed sometimes. (Yay chatkill.)

Yarr chatkill. It's all part of the same ios keyboard issues we've been having since the new client. I get both issues, usually at different times. When they come together it's enough to make me log off.

Before typing anything? Does it help speed up letter appearance on the screen? Thanks Ava!

I haven't noticed this on my iPad Mini on AL, but certainly on PL. PL hasn't been given an iOS 7 update allowing for the updated keyboard, and there is a definite delay and lag in typing. No report of missing PM's though.

Thanks Skeleton. The typing lag is really there for me, no amount of app restarting has fixed it. So only two other known people have experienced it so far.

This is my problem. Connection problem or server?
Ofcourse it's server problem.
That video was from a guy who uploaded it on youtube last year and surprisingly, this server is present until now.
Pls.watch the video before you say something like your internet is slow or whatever it is.
When I play other online games i dont experience any lag at all so the rest of the video will tell you that the server is having stability issues and they dont give a damn thing about it.

I have noticed that when you move the Power Saving slider (I think Game Options II) to the right, letters only appear very slowly, slower than I can type.
Check the slider and try if moving to "best performance" helps with delay between letters.
Nothing helps with the lost first letter, though.

A restore fixed it for me, actually!

I always have mine on at max framerate (leftmost), but it's still the same. :(

Meh. Cannot do a restore unfortunately, it was set up by office tech ppl with work network and apps (yes, I play on my work device trololol). Hope there's another way to fix this :( Apparently even android users have chat issues. I can't chat with mobs around anymore. It's instakill.
