Selling names?

I was just wondering if it's really ban - able to sell names? My football season is starting up soon and I'm not going to be able to be on much again for like 4 months, as practice is everyday twice a day and film on weekends. And I've had some kinda cool names for a while, such as Mysteryfox, Mysteryrhino, and Vorb that I never use so I was thinking about selling them. I've seen people doing this before. I don't use them, so yeah. If you're interested then here they are, never sold a name before :P.

That's why I asked, someone told me STS doesn't encourage it because so many people scam, but it's not against tos to influence someone to delete a name right when you want it using gold.

Anything that can't be sold via trade, isn't allowed to be sold. Same goes with selling plat etc.

The reason for that is u can't ever be certain if the trade is truly legit. Either side of the parties may be screwed over. It would just cause STG helluva lot more support tickets "pls I was scamd pls halp" if it was allowed so it's just easier to prohibit it.

Yeah as said above, however I see this happening lot ingame and getting offers for my names every time I hit balefort castle, but it is always unsecure do these deals.

It's aloud I THINK I have seen dev's say it's up to you but you will probably get scammed and it's your fault and they will do nothing about it.

You could give someone a name as a gift and they could give you gold as a gift that's not against the tos

Really? I have literally 1.6k (lol) and get offers all the time for names I hardly use. If this is true then I may sell too and if I get scammed for it I really don't care, I don't use them.

A gold cap would most likely be a scam for just a name. I wouldn't do it if I were you. Seems like one of those "too good to be true" things to me.

Really? I've never heard of them going that high. I wouldn't pay more than 1m for a name but that's just me I guess. Maybe if it were something like Bear or Magic or one like that.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to remind people the rules when it comes to in game commerce. From my thread:


The following types of trades are NOT allowed:

1. Real world (i.e.: I'll give you a helm in PL for 20$)
2. Cross game (i.e.: I'll give you an armor in PL for gold in AL)
3. Guilds/Guild names (i.e.: I'll give you my guild/guild name for some amount of gold)
4. Accounts (i.e.: I'll give you my account for some amount of gold/real world money etc.)

In summary: Trades that do not fit into the trading window or through the Auction House/Consignment Shop are NOT allowed.

We put these rules in place to protect our players from being scammed. Since there are no verification buttons, the result of someone cheating on another is very probable. Addtionally, form the forum rules (Section 12, last bullet point):


Advertising the sale of in game items on the forums that are not traded through the secure trade interface is prohibited.

However, if you decide to go ahead and do this regardless of the dangers, we will be unable to help you in the very likely case that any part of it does not go as planned.

In short, please don't engage in these types of trades. Thanks for your understanding. I'm going to close this thread now.
