My phone has just finished upgrading, after 3 min of waiting before I could get back to the game.
It looked and felt like the app has been re-installed again with some changes being made.
Yet, there is no info about today's update in the announcement section on forum.

Maybe you just didn't play for a long time. Or bad internet causing slow download time.

Just logged in for my first time today, and there was no update downloaded.

Some aplication on your phone did cleare the cache so AL need download data from beginning.
