I was womdering whats better for mage? Clock or frostbolt? I know that clock can stop more enemies but doesnt frost do more damage?

Both are excellent skills. If you are going to do mainly pve you need both of those skills. PVP is a different story. Don't get the timebomb upgrade for clock and don't get the shatter and ice wielder upgrades for frost. Ice wielder sounds good but charged frost bolt does the same thing even without this upgrade.

I like Time Shift better than FrostBolt.
The skill helped me a lot when farming/leveling
A upgrade stops a lot of enemies and continuously hits 20damage per second to wach enemy (some enemies Do somehow not get stopped, and end up walking past my skill..)

I'm assuming this is for PvE...
Fire, ice, light, clock (or gale depending on situation). You would only need shield in elites if you can't rambo.

I use fire, frost, lighting, clock and shield. When I leveled up I used heal instead of shield. I was poor and potions seemed so expensive. It works to level up and once you get to level 40 you can spend 5 plat and change to shield. Go 5/5 fire, 3/5 frost, 4/5 clock, 3/5 lightning, 2/5 heal(or 4/5 shield), 5/5 int, 5/5 str, 5/5 dex, 5/5 crit, 3/5 dur(1/5 if you used shield).
The build with shield is what most pve elite mages use. I find it works great. You run with fire, frost, clock and shield and switch clock to lightning at bosses. When you run normal maps use fire, frost, light, clock. Get yourself a stun pet and you are a pve beast.
