I'm a level 15 mage and still learning the game. I just crafted my first red stone. What would be best to upgrade? Blessed tunic of fitness? Ornate braid of fitness? Or vizier rod of brutality?

Sell red stone. You don't really want to invest in crafting your gear until later on in the game.

Don't upgrade any items before you reach level 40, it's just not worth it. You can just sell all the games you craft and make some gold to buy more useful things like potions, legendary gear and better pets.

Sell the red stone (blood gem). Glacial gems intelligence, fire gems are dexterity, and blood gems strength. The mage is an intelligence-based character, so you will want to mainly use glacial gems. They're the cheapest too :) If you really want to upgrade, sell the blood and buy a glacial. However, I wouldn't recommend any upgrading (apart from the quest) until later.
