Ok just needed a few tips from any mage players.

I use the regular setup:
Fireball
shield
Lightning
Heal

I JUST started using curse.. Now after reading its description, incoming damage is reflected back at its caster. So why did a 1v1 with a rouge go wrong? Curse is up and she/he is just steady shooting me and I die. I ask them and the reason is she/he has a lot of hp. I inspected the player when we got back into town and they only had 3600..

So basically im just looking for the most effective combination of skills, how i should be using them.

Thanks.

Curse isn't a 1v1 skill especially against a rogue. For rogues, spec shield, fireball, lightning, and ice. You want maximum dmg output, curse won't do jack squat.

I tried that also, but I die 60% of the time. I have mythic items also plus slag. Yet im just dieing left to right.

60% is better than 0%

What about your gear level vs theirs and pet etc. Wining half of the time against some of the very well geared rogues with sam isnt that bad especially if you are all legendary.

Curse does not reflect dmg back at anyone. It doesnt reflect anything at all. Curse deals the mages damage whenever the curse person successfully lands an attack. If your damage is 100 it will do 100 dmg per hit. It can appear as if the damage is being reflected based on how many times the aggressor attacks.

It also depends on the type of attack...if the aggressor is using ANY damage over time abilities such as ignite...it will count as an attack every tick making them die extremely fast. This can be extremely useful in a clash.. solo not so much bc its easily countered by simply waiting for curse to wear off. Curse occupies a skill slot therefore making your damage output reliant on the aggressors ignorance.

Hope this helps

I suggest sticking with your build. Curse is actually great in clash and 1v1 if you know how to use it.
The way i would fight with your build is stun with charged fire. Hit light. Use charged shield.(hope the aim shot doesnt hit you). tap fire charge light (charging light optional). After using skills curse so they either wont attack or if they let lose a nox bolt they will take heavy damage. If they try and run to there packs use slags aa and hope it stuns.

This is a basic strategy and truly depends on luck. I would share my best strategy but then rogues that read this would know. hehe

Not really.

Not really.
*I will admit that it is not the most effective but still i believe that is powerful. Also i do relive that a nook build is more effective against rogues.*

Normally i use shield then spam skills and once invisibility gone i use curse. The rogues i fight normally hold on to aim till after the 2 sec invulnerability. If they shoot it now they take heavy dmg or if they shoot nox bolt they also take heavy dmg. Along with the fact that they can only use peirce now or they must wait till curse effects are gone. Make sure you stand away from their packs so if they pierce they will have to run back to there packs. If they dont then nothing really changes.
To me this works well but i have to say Instant is better than me so if he gives advice listen to him.

Also I hear rogue can use sp with no dmg penalty back to them

Under the influence of curse, this is not true.

Maybe because curse does 10% of a rogue's health and they heal it back up with the lifesteal from pierce.
