Hello All,
I am approaching lvl 50 on my mage and I was wondering what a solid entry setup for a straight INT mage would be and also for a paladin build.
Something that is economical, I am not loaded in gold, but something that will help me hold my own on runs.

If you want to farm money I recommend pure int since pally builds use a lot of pots. The best gear if you don't have much gold is the cyber cosmos with a laser wand or glow stick. Just takes time and its free. After you get enough money you can go Dual Spec or full pally or int if you want.

Cyber takes a while to get. Until then, a mirage robe is probably out of your range, but if you want super cheap while working on the cyber set, get a metallic robe of fate, fate cap (or cosmos if you can afford it), and a burning wand or keeper staff. Cheap gear for a pally would be destiny plate and helm (or rift if you can manage), with a rift shield and luminous harpoon.
Edit: and FYI DPS is a way overblown stat. It doesn't take into account target armor, and does not directly impact skill damage. High damage is a much better indicator of offensive effectiveness.
