Ok, I admit it. I am a noob when it comes to virtually any class even though I have been here since Season 1 ^_^
But right now, I need your help! What is the best build (Skills/Passives) for a Mage and what are the best Gear and Pets?

Helm: Vili's (Mythic 26)
Plate: ????
Weapon: ????
Ring: ????
Amulet: ????
Pet: ( Par from Mythics and Arcanes ) ????

Skills:
1: ????
2: ????
3: ????
4: ????
5?

Passives:
.-.

Thanks for helping! I will update this with the information you guys provide so you won't have to post something anyone else has already done :)

Lawl ok I play rogue mostly but to be quite honest, it really depends on what you want to do.

Support
Nuke
High damage/curse

Support:
3/5 fire (range and stun) - many people wonder why I would use the range, and it's mostly because it helps. The DoT gets you wrecked by other curse mages so it's not necessary in the support role.
5/5 curse - pretty standard.
2/5 heal - mana so rogues don't whine. Other upgrades suck but you could maybe get range if you want.
4/5 shield - no pushback, standard.
5/5 int/str, obvious for shield
Rest in dex passive for HP

Nuke - for raw damage output
3/5 fire - DoT and stun, max damage plus of course the stun
2/5 ice - DoT, the slow on ice kinda sucks IMO so shiver isn't necessary.
3/5 light - crit and damage upgrades, of course.
4/5 shield. - standard
5/5 str and int , rest in dex

High damage w/ curse (sort of hybrid)
5/5 curse
2/5 fire w/ stun
3/5 light, obvious upgrades
4/5 shield - duh.

So for gear..

I prefer the druid helm over the myth helm because it helps my shield, and it gives some more armor too.

Druid helm of brutality
Druid armor if brutality
Long rifle of brutality (does same skill damage as expedition but fires way faster and gun shots do twice as much)
Ensorcelled ring of brutality
Tarlok amulet of brutality

Pets:

For support, ribbit, Orion gyrm, anything really to help team m but slag is best choice IMO.
Shadowlurk and Colton are good nuke pets..but stun pets to stunlock are OP with nuke build if they work.

So...that's it basically, let me know if you've got any other questions.
