Crafting

I'm kind of a noob but what is the point of crafting? I've crafted some items that are under level for me and can't seem to be able to sell them.

What's the purpose? Should I only be trying to craft things that are my level?

Not everything can be crafted.

Just lvl5-15 stuff, lvl55, 60, 65, 70, 75, & 77 items (the legendary gears.)

cafting makes a item Better. By adding better stats to the item.
