Its rare kind of, but not too rare so u might not get more than 5k, the gold color of axes isnt so easy to find these days :)

I consider this like a 'variant' edition of the axe. They do seem to be 'rarer' than most other 'epic' weapons. The value of these axes is all over the place, sometimes you can find them for 4 or 5k but I've sold some for upwards of 25k and I've seen some listed for over 100k. I don't believe these axes drop from mobs but I could be wrong. There are also 'brutality' versions of axes that are gold handled.
At this point I don't believe the gold-handled weapons (they also exist for rogues, at least) are discontinued but as has been pointed out they look about as good with the forerunner set as any other item in the game (the protectors and whatnot are too yellow).
