Cannot register - internet connection error

I have full internet access, have a registered spacetime studios account. When I go to activate the game for the first time, I login using existing account and password, but it aways says there is no internet connect, so I cannot activate the account. I have full internet access at the time, to search utube, google and anything else. I seem to be locked out of the program because of this, and have not managed to get in once.

Do you have a PL account? Or just an STS account (like for this website)? You need to set up an account in game to play.

I am not sure what the difference is between PL and STS account. I registered for the Spacetime Studios account and recieved email confirmation for "Action Required to Activate Membership for Spacetime Studios‏". The game does not however let me even attempt to register as it says there is no internet connection, even though I have full internet account for google and youtube!

I guess I'm really asking if you have tried creating a new account in game (rather than just use existing). I know the error message would be strange in either case, but you have to create your account in game (you can't use the one that you use on this website).

I tried creating a new account first of all in the game, but the same error message came up that I did not have internet access. I created a new account on the web site, to try to see if I could bypass the lack of internet error message, but with no luck. Not sure what to do.
