are they based on the amount of crits, people you hit, people in the party, or amount of damage you do? I found out i made more money off of going with random groups but I kinda wanted to farm a few dungeons alone but it seems like i get little to no drops going by myself :( can someone help me with this issue please :D

They are totally random, doesn't matter about crits, hits, people in party, amount of damage.

It's 100% luck and 100% determination.

Only thing that affects drop rate is a luck elixer from the Plat Store.

which is luck itself. you have a 7/20 chance of the elixir working then you have a ??/???? chance of the item dropped will be the next best runner up to the best item. So its really like a ***/***** chance of it so called "adding luck".

That's sad... So let's say mynas drops a void talon. What will the end result be?

10% luck, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will, 5% pleasure 50% pain.

Luck is no excuse. PM me if you really want to know the details.

Drops are based off of individualized rolls.

To put it into perspective, let's assume that King Mynas drops the Laser Talon of Void at a 1/100 rate (1%).

Using a lucky 'lixir gives you a 35% chance to re-roll for better loot.

You have 2 drop rates to work on with a lucky lixir.

(1/1)(1/100) = first drop rate, the 1/1 stands for King Mynas' drop rate of any item once he's killed (he will always drop SOME item).

(7/20)(1/100) = second drop rate, the 7/20 (35%) stands for the rate that the lucky lixir will activate to give you another drop rate.

(1/1)(1/100) + (7/20)(1/100) = 1.35%

Using a lucky lixir has increased your chance of getting a Laser Talon of the Void from 1% to 1.35%.

Congrats!

Well, next best runners up would be...

1.) Sunblessed Scimitar
2.) Screaming Skullshield
or..... *cries a little*
3.) Mega-Blaster

Is it me or does your "congrats" sound a little sarcastic? ;)

There ARE no excuses. You get a number assigned to you if you are within range when the mob dies. Basically best way to think o it is if your number matches that of the item, you get it. It is a giant lottery system with lots of consolation prizes. And everyone has their own chance.

I can only hope you went pm-ing some random blood sacrifice instructions to get some rift to drop.

Oh no sarcasm intended, I don't know how to be sarcastic...

There is no thread needed for item drop as it is pretty much completely random and nothing can affect it besides the luck elixirs, and that's only +0.25% and +0.35% better...

Have to agree. I don't see anything, anything at all, that can affect drop rate. I've only seen a luck elixir work for me once ever, and a rift armour from OL dropped. But thats after hundreds of just occasional using.

yep true... i spend a lot on luck pots... but i stoped... i would only spend if the loot is 500k+ with a normal drop rate. (not like green ice)
