Since lots of people are getting bored with PVP, why not add some things to spice it up ;).
Here are the things I'm going to suggest for this thread today:

PVP spectators
Bigger PVP maps, especially when you play Capture the Flag
PVE CO-OP (Waves)

PVP Spectators
It would be really cool to have PVP spectators, because even when Developers are broadcasting, what is bette than watching it yourself. There should be a max of 10 spectators per round. People are gonna ask, "Well how are we gonna know which match to join if there are so many taking place". This isn't the best solution, but if someone in your guild, friend list, etc is spectating a match, or playing in it, if there is a spot you can click a new button called spectate. Spectators would not be allowed to

Interfere with the game (The Developers can make them invisible to the players)
They can only talk amongst themselves (The spectators)
They cannot disturb the peace among other spectators.

There are problems that come with this idea though

First of all, "Disturbing the peace can't really get you kicked out, because if there was number of reports before you got kicked out, people would just abuse that.
Second, there might be major lag coming with this idea.
The Developers might not be able to implement this idea. (Making the players invisible, stuff like that)

Bigger PVP maps
When you play an interesting game like Capture the Flag, you don't want to play in such a small map. Flaggers may hate this idea, but it really makes the game more fun. So what I am suggesting is either have a bigger CTF map, or to have players have a "CTF Win/Loss Ratio". Whenever a team gets to 5 flags, they win the game. When they do, all the players on the winning side have one point added to their Win/Loss ratio. Vice Versa. A bigger map would promote less free flagging, and more hardcore, fun CTF.
PVE CO-OP
Having a waves like mode in AL would be amazing! This is how it works. There must be at least one of every class to make this. You will choose any map, and a wave of mobs will come at you. Every time you defeat a wave, you get a number of points based on the wave. Note: These mobs are set on elite mode, so only level 40 and 41 can do this. Also, this is supposed to be hard.

Occasional Bosses-10 points
Regular Mobs-4 per every 6.
Huge Boss-30 points
Evil Mage-40 points
Evil Rogue-40 points
Evil Tank 40 points

When one of your teammates die, their score is finished for themselves, but you guys still keep going. When the last person is finished, your times and scores are Averaged out. This means a low outlier score or time could potentially skew your score and time. So you really have to think. Also, to create leaderboard fairness, this will be a random person thing, no parties can be created for this. At the end of the season, all of your personal times and scores will be averaged, and they will be added up as well for the leaderboard. Records for teams will also be up there.

The pve co op is much like the zombies map in COD. I give it a 1000+ thumbs up. Would definitely do everyday. It is adictive.
As for the changes to CTF. NO. NO NEVER and any kind of no available in the dictionary. Not only people do random things like gang and block also the flagging has been made extremely lenghty process.
If you look at it this way people who have done it , completed it in the time before the new "opposite team has flag you cant score" rule was introduced are lucky. Any changes made to flagging would leave the 10k flags achievement a useless thing everyone one would diss on. And not to forget till the time sts introduces seasonal L.B, those on the L.B will remain there forever if flags was made more out of reach.

Nice especially the waves though i truly dont like the whole no parties.
I would really enjoy running with my guild.
Perhaps a times run(like you suggested) or a normal run in which you can choose your party.
