Level 10 pink dark forest armor

I've long heard about level 10 pink Dark Forest armor drops, but I've never actually seen one drop or in CS or a screenshot on the forums. Allegedly one exists, supposed to be the only one in the game.

Level ten purples exist, so I assumed the pinks must as well. But there has been some discussion in the chatbox that maybe the whole thing is a snipe hunt.

So, if you have a screenshot of level 10 Dark Forest pinks, please share! We'd love for their existance to be something more than theoretical...


Decided to randomly try a luck potion. I know I usually think it's a waste, it gives you like 0.35% better luck or whatever, but on the second pot....

After getting a little lucky, and after we all have seen purples drop, I thought I might try doing a large number of runs with luck pots. So far, here are my results:

Total Runs with Luck Elixer: 40
Total of Elixer doing nothing: 35
Total of Elixer giving an upgrade: 5

No greens, just five upgrades to oranges. Last night, I was getting tons of greens and looted that purple(upgraded from a white). So maybe it was just bad luck or bad timing. I will continue to update this as I go. I will do at least 80 more runs with luck pots, just to begin to get a worthwhile data set(which will be almost complete fail, I am aware what is in store).

I just saw you in DF1 :P. There is one verified lvl 10 pink forest chain. It was dropped to Smoae, who has since then gave it away to another player. No other official verified sitings of a lvl 10 pink have been found.

Lvl 10 purples are quite common, I have seen a few on cs for 50-90k.

there are TONS of Dark Forest 1 games open around the clock by newbies. U'd think there would be some lvl 10 pinks on the CS.

Oh, Smoae told me he farmed it. But how long has the CS been up? I just counted 13 open Dark Forest 1 games with at least 1-2 people in them all. Its like this 24/7. Doncha think some pink lvl 10's would eventually find their way to the CS by now?

Further, many here scoff at the expense of these things. Most people don't put their value very high, maybe not above 400 or 500k, while some of us would pay in the millions. With that kind of price disparity, it wouldn't surprise me to see them purchased minutes or even seconds after going up.

And lastly, it's level ten, many low level people may not realize it has much value at all, especially with slightly higher level pinks worth close to nothing on the CS. Ignorance has surely liquidated many a rare item in this game.

Anyway, it doesn't surprise me to have never seen one in the CS. It does surprise me not to see more people bragging about it if they had them.

BTW, for anyone wondering about the possibility of a PS job on that lvl 10 pink, it's a jpg, not a png, that explains the difference in quality/appearance contrasted with the other screenshot.

So that means there have been 17,568 x 13 = 228,384 Silk-Knight's Killed in the last two months. Now take the three people per silk-knight. 228,284 x 3 = 684,852 drops off of Silk-Knight. The odds of 684,852 people unknowingly liquidating a super rare item is next to impossible. Besides, noobs know about the CS. If you look up all dark forest items on the CS, it's quite flooded with them.


So... What does this all mean?... It leads me to the conclusion that Lvl 10 pinks are no longer dropping in the game.

There's a bit of a spike at the moment because of all the Dark Forest pinks talk, take that into account. Also take into account the threat levels, if Silk isn't white, no level ten drops. With a party of three, can you get her down to that threat level? Having a higher level in game, it also ruins drop levels. I'd guess at best, 1/3 of the time she drops a level ten just due to party size and levels, or killing her before a solo gets down to 23 NPCs. Further, she doesn't always drop a pink, and if it's a party of three, at best only one will get one. So, your math is a bit out there in the speculative zone.

BUT, I do get your direction with the math. I just think that because they have dropped before, because purples still drop, pinks probably still drop. I've personally seen 3 purples drop so far, what do you think the rate of purple to pinks is? 1 pink to 10 purples? If I've seen only one level ten purple in the CS, shouldn't I see 8 more before I see a pink in the CS? At the very least, I should keep farming until I hit ten purples before I give up, assuming that it's a definitive rate, which it's not, it's chance. A coin flip may give you a 50% shot at heads, but you may flip six times before hitting it.

It's all still pretty speculative. I wouldn't rule either possibility out.

I have actually seen quite a bit of purples. I used to have two purple 10's when I was a hardcore lvl 10 twinker. They seem to drop commonly compared to the insane drop rates of a lvl10 pink.

Also, when we first went to the droid, thats when the game was most active. So right now for 13 games to be open is low should I say? Droid was a flood of newbies that had no way to get platinum. They were essentially stuck in DF and FH. Lots and lots of farming.

I also just sent Cinco a message asking for confirmation on if they do or do not drop anymore.

Edit: Most of the ppl I am seeing are lower then lvl 10 in DF1. I'm running a test right now to see if you can get threat to white with three people. You only need to kill 7 additional enemies in a party of two, and there is still plenty of leftover enemies to kill if it was a party of three. Also remember that I said a average, there was a pretty even amount of game population being 1, 2, 3 and 4.

I'm not having a go at you, just to be clear, I certainly see your point of view and it makes a lot of sense. You have an intelligent approach, too. I'm just not in agreement, not yet, at least.

And some Dev confirmation one way or the other would be sweet, let us know how it goes. I hope they are still in the tables, and still insanely rare. It gives me something fun and esoteric to hunt for when I'm not trying high level content.

I remember getting tons of lightning wands off of Zyla Farming. I believe I would sell for like 15k. Again, don't take my word for it, it has been a super long time since I farmed Zyla.

yup, maximum people in party MUST be 3 or lower. Four will give you lvl 11-12 drops.

Also you have to clear pretty much the entire level to get a lvl 10.

With a full party of level 10s or under, killing everything, you CAN get Silk's threat level down to white, meaning she will drop level 10 gear!

Yeah threat level must be white. White threat level is level 9-10 drops. Yellow threat is 11-12. Red Threat is 13-14.

Um guys... About the whole CS thing... You do realize CS is in Balefort and that map has to be purchased before they could use the CS? I doubt most people starting and playing in DF have Balefort yet or the CS. Most of the lvl 10 items you're seeing in the CS are probably from alts. So if they had a pink, they would be more likely to know its value. A newbie playing there might not and could liquidate it before even discovering the existence of the CS. And don't forget the people who quit before they ever get to Balefort. If they got one, it likely died with them.


As for Smoae, he first said he bought it in the CS and then changed his story to looting it.
Either that or he had two of them.

Hey all. I still consider myself fairly new to the game. I was just wondering about the "threat" level you all are talking about. Does this apply to every map and its drops? I have been trying to farm pinks everywhere but never seem to get any drops. I usually try to clear a map first. Just curious.

I watch the threat level, I farmed with a few people for 6 hours yesterday then I did about 3-4 hours soloing yesterday too. All in all, I think we might of just found the new hardest drop.

10 hours of farming will almost most likely give you a green ice though. 10 hours of farming Silk Knight WITH several other people online farming produced 3 purples for EVERYONE. Thats some insanely low drop rates.

The Hidden Grate drops lvl 14's no matter what. I have tested, bosses are always red-yellow threat status.
