Level 10 Pink grinding

Been grinding lvl 10 pinks and I have a new theory!

So it turns out lvl 10 items drop quite commonly. So heres my new theory to why there is only 1 pink. I have asked 3 devs if they still drop, all of them didn't know off the top of their heads. Usually devs remember when they nerf a item. So that leads me to believe they have not touched the drops ever.

So if drops are so common, why is there only one pink known? Well.. I believe that one VERY lucky player got it as a drop using a lucky elixir. If I had used a lucky elixir when I got that drop, I would of had a small chance of it re-rolling up to a pink nature mage robe.

So what does this mean? Unless your willing dish out tons of cash on elixirs, a lvl 10 pink will not happen. If lvl 55 level cap makes getting gold easier, then I might consider farming with a nonstop elixir potion.

Lucky elixirs don't work like that. It's just two identical roles you get from the same loot table when it procs. The second one doesn't automatically boost past the first one. You just get to keep whichever one is more rare.

Well I thought that elixirs took your loot and had a chance to roll up to a better loot. So that disproves my theory and means pinks still drop! Wewt!!!

I think why its so rare is because you need all lvl 10 or lower in the group and that don't happen very often in pugs. It's just like the winterfest farming people's levels in the group affect the levels of the drops. I have tested this myself. When soloing with a lvl 10 (in dark forest) I get lvl 10 drops quite often but even if I get a lvl 11 in the group then the drops jump up to 12-14.

you can thank me and snake for reving up the hype these last few days. People started making threads about it after I made 2 threads about it.

Also because were incredibly bored. 3.4k kills so far on my lvl10.

Good Luck :) I must warn you though, you might not even get a purple until your 2,500 kills into it. I got my first and only purple so far there. 2,500 kills is also about six hours farming in a party of five.

When it comes to L10 (non-platinum) armors, green is the new purple and purple is the new pink ;)

Pharcyde, my theory is similar. I think until this week there was only spotty understanding of the drop system. Everyone at that level has really only been interested in grinding XP. I think there happened to be a party that cleared the map and the highest player happened to be level 10, and the .5% or .25% or whatever low low number it is that drops a pink happened to hit. But nobody knew why until now. Give it a few days of intense farming and I am sure a pink will drop.

FWIW, the devs policy is not to reveal game data but to let us discover it. Cinco told us that.

Was talking to Asommers when he was giving stuff out in Balefort. He didn't give me a for sure answer, but he said "Cinco wants you guys to discover the drops". Why would Cinco want us to discover a discontinued drop? So that can only mean one thing, its still dropping.
