I'll start.

As most people know (the gossip mill in this game is astounding) I looted the first bonesaw last night. I had run up 13,700 points in the event and opened the approximate 15 greater pumpkin chests I found in that time. The bonesaw was in the last one.

I had not opened any necropolis crates.


Update: I'm adding mine to the totals as I go, and have updated the stats below with valid info through post 165.
(excluding the items noted in posts 49-51, and post 125. Waiting for confirmation on those for accuracy's sake.)

actually i did a big mistake ...i donated like chests that were old to my friend...he opened em all and got like 5xsamaels , 3x singes...he also got 2 shards..

Actually, it's possible to get 30 arcanes in 10 crates, but you'd have more chance of getting struck by lightning while riding on the roof of a lamborghini wearing a suit made out of aluminum foil on a Friday night.

400 greater pumpkin chests? How did you get that many? Only people running at the top of the LB could get that count, and I don't know your IGN. Waiting for confirmation before adding this one. Just trying to be accurate.

1st day 15 crates = nothing,
2nd day 1st toon 10 crates = nothing, then i changed to 2nd toon after 5 crates = 1 mythic, then 5 more, so total 35. I dont know how you will count it.

This is not a real double chance, they meant 2x chance to loot mythic weapon because they removed the mythic armor and helms from elock and necro lock. The chances are the same 1/100 to loot mythic, but that can be an amulet or a ring too.

$360 worth of plat is 6,800 total plats, out of which he could've bought 1,360 energy kits. If he sold all for 28k each (minus listing fee already since kits go for 29-30k), that would've been 38m gold earned. Enough to buy a pair of new myth daggers and a glacian, with a few mil left over. He's lucky he (almost) broke even, though.

So far we're looking at <1% Chance from Necro Locked (with "double odds"), and 0.1% Chance from Greater Pumpkin Chest!

Those are terrible odds!

This is obviously a small sample, but it should be fairly accurate, even so.

It would be nice if we were given a better chance of getting them from the Greater Pumpkin chests given that those actually take effort to obtain, and not as many can be opened as locks.

Iam not a locked person. I don't own golden luck so i stay out of gambling. Also my plats are limited.
I have only opened 11 necro lockeds and looted new pink eeric pendant (brutality and potency) and 5 plats sometimes and golds. No myths arcanes.

My friend got new eeric (whatever the name was) pendant on his 4th greater pumpkin.

My other guildy opened 20 greater pumpkin chest and no red/orange item

The chance u get a mythic from the event chest is like meh.
During ursoth's event I opened 130+ elondrian crates and 250+ spirit chests, yet I didn't get even one single mythic item. That is when I decided to give my gambling issue a time-out :P
I don't expect that I can have more than 30 greater pumpkin chests to open this time due to the change of crafting mechanism.
Last time u didn't need any essence to craft an ultimate event chest while u need 5 Halloween essence to craft one this time. Considering how rarely those essence drop, u will need like around 30-45 minutes to farm all the essence u need to craft one single chest, which gives u one shot for the new mythic weapon, however rare that chance is.

I mean opening an event crate gives u 3 items while an event chest gives u only 1.

All in all, the number of how many mythics out of how many items is fixed. The number u are listing is from biased samples, which may not reflect the mechanism correctly.

Like in a casino, you can always change the dealer, but u don't temper the math.

I agree. Considering that pumpkins can only be obtained from the hardest boss or crafting with a recipe requiring (5?) bones, the chances of getting a mythic in these should be substantially higher than necro locks. Given that there is only one item inside, and most of the time that is 2k or 5k gold, 1 mythic in 200 or 300 chests would not be out of order.


People could say that only the unlucky are reporting, but that is not the case. I have only heard about 3 other finds in pumpkins that are not recorded here. 2 of those are unverified. With a large number of contacts who are "in the loop" and/or running leaderboard (which means opening a ton of gpc's) if there were more being found, that news would filter in.

Superstition. Luck and Lep make no difference whatsoever. You never reroll when opening a crate. Any "better" loot one sees while using these items is coincidence.

That has nothing to do with this topic. I am not rich. I got lucky enough to get the first bonesaw of the event from a greater pumpkin chest, and therefore made a substantial profit on it. As you can see by the number of empty pumpkins opened, that was extreme luck. Over the last year and a half in this game I have spent far more than I have got back in items of value, as have the people who are finding multiple mythics.



This thread is just to create a fun poll to see what the actual odds are, from a random sample of players. I really don't appreciate hearing that some of the people kind enough to contribute to this poll have been being harassed in game because they posted their findings. Please, everyone, have respect for other players.

Speaking of which, I made a new toon and it apparently got all the luck genes Serancha is missing.
