Maybe they know that in order to get to platinum tier youll have to spend either lots of gold or lots of plat on energy and they didnt want to bum out the common player who only plays 1-2 hours a day only

If you want Platinum tier, don't be lazy
Maybe they know that in order to get to platinum tier youll have to spend either lots of gold or lots of plat on energy and they didnt want to bum out the common player who only plays 1-2 hours a day only
Thats not true, I never spent plats nor golds just to get on platinum tier. Played 5-6 hours a day to get there.
Playing 1-2 hours and expect to reach platinum tier? meh! But your right though, thats why you branded them as "common" players. They want to reach the tier but dont want to effort :). This is a 3 week event, if platinum tier is that easy then it would be boring.

As previously understood STS looks into two things: Time VS Money. To get successful you need one or the other, most of the top players have both. So we shouldn't really compare Gold and Plat for energy but more or less Time VS Money for event energy.
Those who are in platinum and haven't spent any actual money but have been playing for A LOT of time are considered the "Time" aspect, whilst those who are in platinum whom have spent money for kits and maybe 75% less time are part of the "Money" aspect.

Most of whinners about tier didn't really put effort/time to reach it. Its like wanting to win an Olympic gold medal without working hard for it.
