Dear STS,

Firstly, I would like to apologise if I just got my knickers in a twist over nothing, so without further ado....

I see currency signs are blanked out with squares when buying plat. So this leaves me with a question, do you charge people who live in countries with stronger currencies more!

E.g,

For currency let's say £1=$1.50

I live in the UK, the pound is stronger than the dollar. Therefore if my fellow US friend spends 400 USD buying plat, for me that same amount of plat would cost me approx 450 USD, therefore am I paying approximately $50 dollars more than my fellow American friend? Why can't I buy that same amount of plat for $400 USD instead of $450 USD? You are charging me £400 ($450) and yet you're charging my lovely friend across the pond $400 USD!

Another example is Courage the Lion and the adventure kit, I can't remember real price because I'm too old but anyway.....say it was 1.99, people in USA buy it for $1.99, so why we gotta buy it for $2.49 ??? Coz u charging me £1.99 !!!!!!

STS, Y U NO LIKE UK?

If I got it all wrong please ignore all of the above, thank you.

Bless

If I'm correct, my iPhone charges me ~£0.70 more than my android.

So when I want to buy plat, I have to pay random amounts like £29.30, lol.

Don't wanna sound like a dramallama but #ninjacharges and also why make the UK gameplayer pay more? We have feelings and need to be loved too you know.
I hope a Mod/Dev can explain rather than delete or lock thread!

Depends how you pay. Those charges come from andriod n iso also so bear in mind those companys will take a cut for the transaction.

Now im a uk player as well but I use chrome to play.

When I go to buy plats it takes me through to paypal which do their own conversion rate from dollers to pounds n it always works out cheaper

So for say plats worth 9.99 dollers.. im paying like 5/6 quid for it instead... might be worth checking out using chrome and paypal instead

We set the prices in USD and the in app purchase systems do what they do to get it into your local currency. Whether that is in your favor or not depends on how the market is moving (and how quickly) and when the app store provider sets their rates. It is not something we control.

So basically, that 13.99 package is $13.99 and not £13.99. I pay approx £9 and not get whacked £13.99 ?

No, that's not how it works. There is an exchange rate in there, but we don't set it.

The prices in USD for the different packages during the Platinum Sale are:

30 Platinum USD $2.99
75 Platinum USD $5.99
165 Platinum USD $11.99
600 Platinum USD $29.99
1,700 Platinum USD $54.99

Searching on the current exchange rate from USD to British Pound, shows 1 USD = .63 £

I have no idea what the exchange rate you are seeing for in-app purchase.

If you want to use PayPal and go via the web, the Spacetime Webstore can be found at: https://store.spacetimestudios.com/WebStore/store.jsp

Give you all a idea I bought the 1700 plat package last night during sale... after paypal converted it with their own exchange rate it worked out to £35.49. If I had bought the same pack in over apple app store it would have cost me about £1.50 more

Apple charges taxes lol google doesn't

Apple , if something is $1.99 you need to have more money added to your gift cards/ credit, really sad
