How does pvp chat work now?

I haven't been online in some time and now I see that pvp chat is different
Can someone explain me more about this?
From what I see now you can talk only to your team? Or am I wrong?
Please help! :)

Chat automatically goes directly to team unless you specify otherwise by using the /all command.

Its simple, /a to chat with everyone in the room, and just your regular non-command typing for it to go to your teammates.
