Stats are the about the same as magma staff. Proc looks like the top half of the staff stuck in the ground (still spinning), and shoots blue balls of energy at enemies.

Lol haven't tried in pvp. In pve it only shoots enemies. If no enemies are around it just fires but doesn't hurt the player.

Best word I could use to describe them lol. Looks like the top of the staff stuck in the ground and spins while shooting. For pve its great.

I hear a lot of these Planar weapons for Warrior and Mage causing self and team damage during PvP, yet unaffected in PvE. I would very much like to know, what's the rogue equivalent?

Don't use the staff in tombs, you will disconnect...

I will say before I disconnected it appeared the crystal proc would do extreme damage to the mobs. I might try some solo runs with it later tonight.

Here are some reviews on the new staff's proc:
-it procs quite infrequently, and seems to only procs when it hits an enemy. I tried hitting the air for ages and still it didnt proc
-The crystal automatically attacks nearby enemies, range is a little further than the normal staff attack. Only attacks 1 mob, and when the missile touches the mob, it explodes doing AOE damage to a very small area around the target
-It shoots total 10 times, about 1 sec delay per shot.
-The damage calculation seems to be quite complex:
+Regardless of your damage on stat page, it does the same damage
+The damage differs on different enemies. For example in wilds (tindirin) one hit does constant 225-240 damage, but in windmore harbor (kraken isle) it does only 195-196 damage, same 195-196 damage for nordr. In brackenridge it doesnt 1 hit kill a normal mob, I couldnt see the damage, but each hit takes away just 1/5 hp of the mob. I dont know if it scales to level, or to the map we are in. I havent done any elites with this staff yet.
-When it procs it knocks away enemies nearby. When it shoot it makes purple pulses and knocks enemies away from it.
-believe it or not if no enemy is around it shoots ground environments or items lol.

the pic below shows it was shooting the health pack. the missile flies to the pack and explode, if it shoots the air it doesnt explode. Ive seen it shooting ice patches in nordr too lol.

I actually prefer potency staffs with elondrian gems for defense and brutality guns for damagethis season.

I do agree brutality staffs are useless since they are mediocre stat wise. Potency staffs have the highest health for legendary weapons this season and assault/brutality guns have highest damage.

You lose 250 health for only 20 Damage when comparing potency to brutality staffs which isn't a good trade off IMO. Meanwhile expedition brutality rifle has much higher damage than magma/planar staffs so brutality staff versions just don't shine in any category. Stats are mediocre but they always sell for the highest price.
