Is it worth buying 51 gear?

I would wait myself. I think we are seeing a "reverse shadow cave" right now.

I was thinking the same thing about Shadow Cave. I expected drops galore the first few days, and haven't seen much.

Don't buy level 51 gear unless you really really want it. Prices will eventually drop, and level 53 and 55 pinks will have better stats. On top of that, most of the stuff I've seen isn't a huge upgrade if you have good 50 stuff. That said, I did buy one, but I really really wanted it ;)

yeah someone told me that all bosses were going to drop pinks.. that for sure didnt happen

The stuff that is typically dropped at level 51 is decent enough to get you by without buying. I got an orange bow that has significantly higher damage than my megablaster. I lose the Void set bonus, but it isn't that big of a drop. The armor and helm drops I've seen aren't any better than my wraith, so I am sticking with that for now.

I think the drop rate is fine. I see enough for sale in cs.

Also, remember that there aren't really any bad 50+ pink drops like in past campaigns. I'm not really sure why that is really. But every pink you get in the new campaign is a top end pink.

I would wait and get 55 level gear. It's the only high level gear that can be upgraded by crafting.

i think that the only 55 gear thats obtainable are the ones crafted. if so yes they are worth getting. as of now i have a purple axe helm and green armor orange shield.

that gear combo provides me with more damage than the rift sword shield set and a bit more armor

Tried the roach set, wasn't a fan because of the lack of mana regen. I like to be able to just run through my skills and keep a pattern and I'd rather not waste any money with pots.

Went back to void/SB set, and I still love it.

i would only purpose to buy a purple set, never a pink lvl 51 one... :-/

I think the Lvl 51 set is worthwhile. The lvl 53 set is almost identical with very little improvement so my game plan is to buy Lvl 51 to use for 51-54 then when I reach 55 I'll buy the 55 set.

I am a lvl 51 mage and sold my first lvl 51 pink drop, mega mage's gem blast staff for 200k. Most people were selling it for 400k+ in the cs. Stats weren't that great. Are there set bonuses for lvl 51 purps?

There wont be bonuses for purples. Are there set bonuses for pinks though? Or only at lvl 55?

I haven't seen any great stats on level 51 gear. Also if you have gear with a set bonus, no way
would I break that up for '51' gear.
