Remove the Orb of Ursome component while youre at it (10 plat or gold in cs) and make it a different color. We have 2 red gems already. Maybe an eyeball design.

By A lvl 41 weapon, do you mean it gives 3 3 3 on only new mythic weapon? Or all 41 gears?

Thanks for the clarification Remiem... Definitely better than 2/2/2 but I will have to do a little math to see how 3/3/3 and Crit stacks up with Tarlok. The one obvious benefit is that there is only one version so no regemming costs to get a Tarlok Grand.

I also assume all stats stack with multiple gems, So if I had two I would get a total of 6/6/6 and 4.28% crit correct? And crit is not like DMG where only the highest percentage number counts right? I don't want to go all out and then find out the Crit disappears when I use Scorch or something.


On a side note: I realize STS has been up against it with all the server issues that cropped up during Halloween (Darn Gremlins) so I somewhat understand what appears to be a rush on some portions of the Winter Event. Personally I am more about numbers than looks but I do wish STS could find a way to have a more refined and polished product when you give it to us, even in test. The lack of thought on the Planar Essences in the recipe was glaring, someone really should have caught that. I also think the repackaging of mythic weapons is getting really old. I somewhat agree that a Ring would have been better (plus there is very little artwork that goes into a ring). The market is going to get so flooded with weapons that it will seem like everyone has one. I much prefer build variety to everyone having carbon copy equipment. Weapons are approaching Legendary status and something like the Amulet is of more Arcane rarity. Mythic should stay consistently mythic.

So overall I am trying to look at things from STS's perspective (You gotta get paid and things happen) but try and think things through a little more before you feed it to the beast, cause the beast will eat you alive if you miss something. - Thats directed to all STS not just you Rem.

The fact that the recipe is only viable during the event time might create a problem.
If points are too difficult to get then ppl who cant afford to spend on energy kits might reach plat tier in the 4th week of the event.. And then they will only have a few days to craft the gems..

I've got like 50 ice queens :( I'm going to loose so much money on these things! If you want to get ahead in AL you cant just rely on farming and some people cant purchase plat. Stockpiling and aging items is an important source of income to a lot of players and re releasing of old vanities makes that practice unpredictable are reckless. The old grim vanities lost more than half their value after the new ones were released. Fortunately for people who had the old robes they new ones at least were colored differently. If they been brown grim robes again they would be worth maybe 10% of what they were before the event! I've been collecting ice queen vanities all year, sometimes spending my last bits of gold on one, or running km3 to get a few locked to buy one because i saw one for a cheap price in auction. I thought that if I bought enough of these things maybe someday i would get ahead. Well i guess that's not the case and ill have to live with that, but come on sts if your going to be bring back vanities from before, bring back one i want!!!
Oh and the new vanities are ugly. Look like re skinned magma armor.

Green arlor for warrior would be good but return of the red arlor vanities will hurt many people. And the lb rewards will be vanity. For an example "yeti" vanity for warrior. I saw this in the test server.

Bringing back any old vanity is GG. Antiques should remain antiques.as soon as all arlor is flooded with old arlors - none will want it anymore and they will become average ones. Why none asked for ice queens? Cuz u can buy hundredof those in cs and change those daily instead of washing.

We already can say RIP to last xmas ones and their chance to be valuable some day.

As ive read almost all of the post here in this thread, and being fairly new to this game, seeing comments like stop bringing old vanities back, or lower the requirements for new gem, i could say this is the majority feedback of people. So please hear these out.

Sts should remember that majority of the people who play this game are non plat users. Even though plat users help the server financially, id bet they wouldnt even dare play if there are no people in it. So why not be in favor of both non plat and plat users?

Also, ive been playing for like barely 3 months and ive witnessed releases of new weapons.(1 is upcoming winter) its actually not a good idea to maintain a good server. 1, you released new mythc halloween weaps, and it already messed the market up. 2, planar tombs stuff, same effect. 3. 2x odds on lockeds. On any aspect, youre destroying your own game. The only reason i see you guys doing this is by indirectly forcing ppl to spend money and plats. NOT to make the gaming experience better.

Is it also a trend wherein you release info lacking tons of details in it? Or do you intentionally want ppl to ask you first before you spill it?

Sorry to keep you waiting, but anticipation makes the reveal twice as exciting, right?? Leaderboard vanities are still in progress and will be revealed next week. Keep an eye on the announcements section for more news, updates and changes to the Winter event based on feedback we've received over the coarse of the Winter Event Public Test. Thank you all for your participation and feedback, it's been incredibly valuable and we can't wait to reveal the winter even to everyone soon!

Here are some of the major changes coming to the live event:
+ Upon reaching Platinum Tier, players will now receive 1 Enchanted Eye of Syrillax in addition to the recipe to craft more.
+ The Enchanted Eye of Syrillax will no longer require planar essences, but instead will require 10 of each of the following gems: Glacial, Blood and Fire (This means the crafted gems, not just dropped essences.)
+ The 2013 Christmas Vanities will be modified to make them a little more unique for this year.
+ The spawn rate of the Syrillax Guardians has been reduced so you won't see them quite as often.
+ We nerfed Tarlok's "sky bomb" ability to cause less damage.
+ Tarlok Gem recipes have been reduced to the same requirements as last year + 2 ice dragon scales.



I am really happy that you guys refined the Eye of Syrillax. I have to say I was very disappionted/outraged when I found out it required plat to craft. I think giving one gem and having the option for the recipe is a fantastic compromise. I do think that the intention here was to give people something to do with the Orb instead of it just sitting in inv after the event. Which is a good idea and I like that my plat won't be wasted in the end but with the way it was setup prior it came across the wrong way.

For the requirement of 10 gems each that's a little much, 5 of each is more appropriate here.

I am also excited to see the changes to the old vanities. For the rogue ice queen vanity tweaks please make it more female warrior-ish. I am a girl and that vanity does not appeal to me at all, I highly doubt it appeals to any of the male rogue players either. Maybe something like below.

Green arlor vanity in the leaked screenshots is not just a thing to put in there and test the server. Someone worked on it. if there wont be a green arlor, they would not put it in test server. They would use winter's fury or winter's rage.

The 300 essences thing will actually have an opposite effect, because it will keep the gems (all of them) at a high price, thus enabling f2p players to make more gold, buy selling the gems they craft, while farming for energy essences. Also do not forget that the event will be 4 weeks.

PVP become unbalance since those para gem came into game, they nerfed the rogues but in other hand they give them more damage with para gem, so is like nothing happened at all :) but with these new crit gem you can say goodbye to pvp. lol

Well crafting slots are never enough during an event. You will actually need 48 hours= 2days out of 28 total to craft the 30 gems. In the other 26 days you will still be able to craft 780 event crates, or 1560 energy, or a combination of both. I think u will be alright ;-)

Yeah farming for gems is a little nuts! But hey it gives way to the lower levels and less fortunate to farm gems and sell them at reasonable prices if you don't want to grind or only grind event!

I will get gems anyways while I farm energy :)

Farming for gems during event is plain and simple ridiculous.

And did these guys in STS even think about this - we do NOT have unlimited inventory space. Most of us do NOT have multiple characters and dummy accounts. We can NOT store hundreds of gem essences, gems, energy essences, dragon scales, locked crates and so on and so forth. And all this on top of the currently useless planar essences clogging our inventories. I am sorry but this is not how things should be done.

thank you for posting something of value here! :-) YOu seem to have played the test server quite a bit. How are those eye of syrillax drops working for you? I mean did you drop more than one, besides the one you get for reaching plat tier? Also if you do not mind sharing, how many event points do you have?

Totally only wonder what's the rate of that boss essence needed in order to craft the gem. So if there is someone who experienced it after they fixed the rate on test server some info would be appreciated.

well since you release only 4 type of legendary armors, i suggest:

rogue:
1. potency (dex, int, damage)
2. tactics (dex, int, crit)
3. savvy (dex, int, dodge)
4. will (dex, int, armor)

warrior
1. assault (str, dex, damage)
2. fatality (str, dex, crit)
3. grace (str, dex, dodge)
4. fitness (str, dex, armor)

mage
1. brutality (int, str, damage)
2. force (int, str, crit)
3. stability (int, str, dodge)
4. security (int, str, armor)

pretty much varied for each class, and pretty much even between each class, although, many of them aren't popular...

the more gems (same type of gem) we put in one slot the HIGHER the CHANCE for grand gem
since it takes too many gems anyways to get a grand gem, why not just put as much of gem in one slot and increase the percentage to get grand gem

Well,

many other people prefer spending the time from Christmas to New Year's with their families (or if too young have to), instead of playing a game on their phone for hours. Also do not forget that the event will be 4 weeks long, which would mean it would go till 19th of January, which is a busy time for most people (in Europe at least). I hope it starts tomorrow:-)

there is no assurance u will get it once upgrading is done,..it would be nice if STS put a % sign

and if u upgrade items u know it takes more than 10 gems and 200 plats to get a grand gem right away
so with stacking up gem to upgrade items is actually more favorable to AL players

example:
6 stages of stacking up gem

1 gem = 10% success rate
2 gem = 15%
3 gem = 25%
4 gem = 35%
5 gem = 55%
10 gem = 75% btw 10 gems would cost like 50k

there will be no 100% succes rate since it wont be anymore challenging

The reason the gems are the way they are now is because people are complaining that this game was becoming a pay to win game. So sts made it harder for plat users to get grand gems from rushing gems with plats.
