If You want to craft something do you need the lvl 55 version of the item?

For instance i have the lvl 51 versions of all the craftable pinks and I was wondering if i need the lvl 55 version or if i craft it will it come out as a lvl 51 pink or what?? Any help would be appreciated!

You can only craft the 55s.

Because they're the same items, just different levels. However the requirement for crafting a level 55 pink is that you start with a level 55 pink.
