What does a joining date has to do with this? For all you know, I could be a player from 2011, who made a account on forums just yesterday...

Because you can determine based on the posts and the join date whether you can trust the guy or not. Because you know he wouldn't give up his reputation which he spent years establishing just for few Million gold. You have no reputation, therefore you cannot be trusted.

Ikr. Thiss is outrageous. And what? the winner wins 75% of gold? Than is more than gold cap. That is freaking insane! Not to mention the many ways to scam.
Most of the time, the hosts of tournies usually contribute something to the tournie.
