With the new Icescale armor of brutality I don't see any reason to use mythic anymore. The set bonus makes a huge difference compared to past event sets. These are the stat differences when comparing the full sets:

Mythic: 8.16 crit higher, 11.1 damage and 15.4 dps more

Icescale brut: 175 health and 112 armor more

As of now only the crit makes mythic armor better and I can lose that much by switching pets. The small damage increase isn't worth the health and armor loss at all anymore.

It depends on the choice of the person. BTW may i ask what class you are comparing to? By the looks of it I'm guessing rouge?

No that was for Mage. The bonus for wearing a full Icescale set makes it a lot better than any event gear so far. You won't see it when comparing it in auction unless you have the full set equipped.

Are you talking about perfected sets or regular ones?

8% crit is a lot.
8% crit for mage is like 40% of your crit depending on build etc, from a pvp perspective its suicide to lose that much. Maybe for a strict pve'er the armor and health is a viable option over damage and crit.

Yeah my mains only pve. I have twinks for pvp. For pve damage health and armor is more important than crit IMO. Pvp is a different story.

Although I have a set that gives 40% crit for my Mage i didn't really find it good. My damage, armor and health sets were better so I took it out of load outs. As far as pve I'll prob never use mythic armor again.

the war class started experiencing this with elondrian gear, planar gear, then necro gear. all 3 better than mythics
