Anyone notice anything with hot flash recently with the new patch?

I've noticed that hot flash has been changed with the new patch. I think that there is a delay now that you have before activating hot flash between when you press the ice storm and the fire blast if you want the combo. The delay increases with the ice storm level. If you wait too short, then the combo doesn't activate. At least, that's how I think it works. Or is this some sort of glitch?

Update: It is weapon specific! Do not use the gemshard wands if you like hot flash! It will make it unreliable.

It's always been this way. You have to delay a second after icestorm before the firestorm or you get no combo. I have never noticed any change in that needed delay with skill rank though.

Wow, thanks a lot for this information. I've only been playing a few weeks or so and I've just recently turned a corner with my enchantress. I've just begun to thoughtfully use the various abilities in concert and with specific purpose. I've often used Ice Storm/Firestorm combo and I just realized because of your post what I'd occasionally been doing wrong. I just figured it was a random percentage change to proc, but, I've just been hitting firestorm too soon!

Often times I'd fire the two off sequentially, which is convenient, but, without the combo is not really a good idea. I'm not sure exactly how long I've been playing the Enchantress, but, I started off with a Birdie and lvld to 30 before starting my second character. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with the sexy enchantress though, lol.

A bit off-topic, but, are there any other combos for the enchantress? That is the only one that I'm aware of and I've been operating under the assumption that no other combos exist. Thanks!

Basically any time you can freeze then apply fire, it's a combo, so icestorm/firestorm, frostbite/firestorm, ice weapon/firestorm, frostbite/fire weapon, etc. Besides self combos, you can also participate in cross class combos, use lightning after a bird roots, feeze mobs for a bear to stomp, use weakness when a bear uses hellscream.

Right now, for my combo against groups, I'm going ice storm, lightning, then fire blast to give a bit of a delay.

I used to squeeze in a heal after ice and before fire to allow the delay. :)

What I find strange is that either I have become mysteriously faster or hot flash isn`t working properly. Before, I would press ice storm and then fire blast with no delay - then hot flash would come. Now it does not seem to work and when it does, it is much less reliable, hitting in a much smaller radius.

Update: It is weapons specific. Switching to a crystal staff makes it work properly. So does the glow stick.

It is weird that the mega mage wand does not work properly. Looks like it is back to glow stick for me.

Sorry but you're totally wrong about this. I see absolutely no difference with any weapon change. The only thing is that with a fire wand, you can shoot a frozen target before getting your firestorm off which will result in a steam combo preempting your hot flash.

I think that'd be too much.

Solo, yes, they'd work. But in a group, I don't think you can put off a 3-4 move combo without anyone's other skill getting in the way.

This is very weird. I don't think anyone is lying here.

I have observed little delay with my glow stick and crystal staff, but with my gem shard, hot flash has been very unreliable. I've tested extensively on plasma, A03, and a bunch of other levels. Either I've got a glitch somehow (perhaps it only happens when you wear certain equipment for example) or there's something very odd going on here.

I've observed the fire proc with the gem shard, and if I remember correctly, with Keepers staff, which works flawlessly with freeze (giving the wand a damage bonus I think), but I have no idea what is going on with hot flash.

Either way, it seems that other people don't seem to be affected by this bug, so for now, I'm sticking with Shadow weaponry.

The new patch may have done something. Whatever it was I am glad it is gone. Thanks everyone.
