I have to check on the Hate set, since I never actually owned and tried one out, but a full str bear with a rift set is really good already.

Skills, you'd want to go for max debuffs and buffs, thats all. Variety of slashes is up to you, but at least one in each is good.

Since the bonuses were added to the Hate set, its the way to go for Tank.

Hope this helps. Can compare 'em yourself d:

NOTE: In both of the screenshots, I have a ring on that adds 3 H/S, 1 M/S and 4 Armor.

Aren't the new bonuses geared more towards a "Berserker" type build, not tank?

Not really. It has higher DPS and higher Crit. But the +12 Armor is great, and there's only a -2 Dodge loss. Only big downfall is the loss of some health, but still it isn't a whole lot. Compare with the screenshots I took and added to previous post and see which one is better for you.

Sweet. I personally only heard about it having a high crit rate, which is why I attributed it to Berserker. Seems nice for tanking, base damage really takes a hit though. I suppose that's what all that crit is for.

Hmm. I'd say both are on equal ground actually.

Health, 2 dodge, base damage, hit would = higher armour and more crit to me.

I'd just go with whichever is cheapest.

But would the extra armor really make a difference with normal mobs?

Also how about skills?

Maybe not one mob or boss, but if your tanking multiple, that 9 more armour (or 9 damage if armour=damage reduced), thats 9 x X number of mobs.
