hi

i found that my level 5 drain life is missing a lot, is there any attribute that would help my drain life to hit? dex or int or nothing else?

thanks!

It should be dex, or based on your Hit rate from attributes.

When I was using mage it seemed to be hitting quite often and critting even.

You sure your in range for it to actually work?

yeah i usually use it when i'm fighting in melee range :)

so the offensive spells and melee attacks are sharing the same hit rate which is based on the amount of my dex point?

Thats what I think, since I don't see another way to actually have a skill hit rate, unless its with skill level.

I think it just seems like DL misses a lot because of the awful 12 second cool down. Should be based off your Hit %, though. :) It will hit whoever your auto-target is pointed at...and if that mob is too far away, it will miss. When it hits, expect to be fully healed.

Edit: Also, as a high level mage, I have no points added to Dex at all and have a Hit % over 100. I stand by my original statement; 12 second cool down is a &^%*&.

Yeah Dex would help a bit but only at low levels. At the cap, pure Int gives more than enough Hit% and you probably aren't going to be able to improve it.

Actually the chests are good healing spots with drain life (and it works!).

when my mage was a paladin, my life drain was a real killer. Nothing like being in axe range and then dropping what basically amounted to a crit to everyone pounding on me. a mend in ever encounter.

Do the abilities crit at the same rate that weapons do?

@Sechs:
Drain life has a delay from when you first push the button. You should see a red circle (it's a circle with ridges around it) flash on the ground right beneath you. After the delay, there will be a large orange circle with ridges flashing. That's when you know it worked. You should then see your hp go up depending on how much hp you and the target have.

Btw - drain life on a pure int mage is awesome. Who says mages can't compete with dex birds on damage to a single target? :)

That is an affirmative. :)

LOL they are Cantonese - the Chinese we use in Hong Kong.

my sig says: "blessed are they who treat their wife good, for they will have 3 dishes and 1 soup per meal."

It's actually very useful in combat. When you've got a chest with the green orb and you need it killed fast, hitting it with drain life and frostbite is one way to do it. If you have fever, make sure you put up your mana shield. Don't use your mana shield against Gold Fever for anything else unless you are about to die - otherwise you won't have your mana shield for when you really need it.

as with a lot of skills, i've found the more points you put into the skill the better the hit rate as well. I've always felt that a skill with 6 points hits more often then one with 1 point. maybe that is just me though
