In my search for a pendant recipe I decided to make a YouTube playlist of all Arena Chests I have opened since the introduction.
Some people claim to have done "hundreds" of runs while others got "lucky" and looted 1 or even more recipes in only a few runs.

*** This afternoon I finally looted my first recipe. It took me 619 runs to get it. Thanks to everyone who was always willing to party with me, I really appreciate it!

I think he posted the opening of 200 chests as proof that he has indeed completed 200 runs with 0 recipes to date. I, myself, have completed upwards of 500 arena runs without a recipe, so, in my opinion, the drop rate is too low. Especially considering that otherwise, there is absolutely no value in running the arena. It's not like Noble, Shade and Architect gear would even pay for the pots, let alone the ankh and elixirs.

Let's not get started on the Fossils in Arena Chest thing....that will either make me laugh like a maniac or throw my computer out the window, could go either way.

Ahaha this is eaxactly how I'm feeling about the recipe! With 300 runs so far and nothing, I'm starting to question my sanity.

Sera had a really good suggestion to put the dark armor in the arena chests too and I hope they do that soon! The 30g a run from item liqadation is...

Yes, whatever comes in these chests needs to be made a bit rare though. In the past everything that was ever put in arena drops had its market killed really fast as it became way too common. I think this is because you get a chest guaranteed for every arena run, so given the same odds of looting a legendary from a chest, these become way too common. I think perhaps this itself needs to be re-examined. Perhaps chests should be a rare drop just like they are in the tombs or any elite dungeon. Then have some kind of worthwhile legendary drop that can be found in them but is not quite as rare as the fossil or amulet recipe.

What I do NOT want is for them to increase the chances of getting the fossil or recipe. I too have not yet looted (or purchased) the recipe, but I like how it is something that is rare.

U r right Z..imbued gear in arena will kill tombs..Some thing like ankhs and few gold instead of crappy gear that hardly make 30gold. so that they dont broke your ATM gold. Not saying complete gold spent on ankhs and pots..:chuncky:

they should really replace the nobles and arcitects....kind of sucks that the new content literally poops out oldies. not saying that we need drak crystals in them, but making something actually worthwhile farming so many chests and spending alot on ankhs. It really doesnt make it worth it to run so many, get chests and all legendaries that you get are supposed to be disappointing gears.

That'd be nice to have something to do with the extras like they did with the planar essence. I got tired of deleting the boss essences, I ended up stashing the relic.

I've met some awesome Arena runners during the weekend :) that's the only positive thing I can say after running for hours and hours non-stop.

On Saturday 2 people looted a recipe within a close ammount of time. After that I havent heard/seen anyone else looting anything untill a day later. Offcourse it's impossible to say but maybe STS allow 3 recipes to drop every 24 hours?

IMHO, there MUST be rewards for skill and perseverance. Just being the lucky person that loots a recipe (or fossil or basically any other high value farmable) is disheartening for those that have already put in hundreds and hundreds of runs.

Luck, while nice and exciting for the more casual players that don't put in the time/money/effort, is actually counter productive for the hardcore players.

There has the be a "grinding" reward that compliments the random (or worse, not-so-random) lucky drop.

It would be one thing if the arena was rewarding outside of a recipe drop, but the fact is that it is nothing but a gold/plat/ankh sink for the harcores, I can't fathom what low to midrange players consider it to be, but it can only be worse.

Please, make it worth while, please make it so that if after 500 runs you loot a recipe regardless of luck. That way, at least there is a goal on the horizon that you are marching towards.

Mindlessly running arena over and over for hours on end with no reward in sight is just plain infuriating and depressing.

lol can we have a way to liquidate those crappy chest? i got 130+ in inv and i refuse to open as it consist of outdated garbage i could of looted from the old arena..... its really just a waste of inventory space if i can be perfectly blunt

Just click the open button as fast as you can and then delete everything.

At this point I have wasted so much time in trying to loot it myself that I refuse to buy it. I wouldn't even accept it if someone gifted it to me. It's good to know that drops actually do happen but does it depend on how many people are doing runs or is it just a limited number of drops in a day

I will keep on updating this thread untill someone actually loots one in our party.

Update (1): added another 25 chests to the list making it 225 runs in total.
Update (2): added another 18 chests to the list making it 243 runs (obviously :))
Update (3): only 10 chests tonight, 253 runs in total
Update (4): added another 45 chests to the list, 298 runs in total
Update (5): only 9 runs today so 307 in total.
Update (6): added 20 Arena Chests to the list (0 vials) so 327 runs

I made like 300 runs like u and still no recipe for me, when saw ppl ran 200-300 and loot 2 or 3 recipes.

Idk how that recipe drop can be so unfair, hope u get recipe soon.

Opened about 100 chests earlier today, got 5 of the new gems, 10 ankhs and 150 pots, which at least lessens the pain and makes up for some of the gold I wasted in that place. Opened about 100 chests earlier today, got 5 of the new gems, 10 ankhs and 150 pots, which at least lessens the pain and makes up for some of the gold I wasted in that place. Hit me up, if you want to do some runs with me. Maybe we will have more luck together lol. :)

I think that in the new expansion, they should make some of the top gear drop from arena chests. With a drop rate of 1/50 for each gear. That way, the gear will not overflood the market, it will be expensive.
