What happened to my staff?

I got a zombie fire voodoo staff from my friend [Uriyah] and I had a zombie croc scale robe on (which doesn't have an int. boost) and my staff becam one handed and wouldn't fire.

I then unequipped it and it said I couldn't use it because of low int. so I put on my dreamers croc scale robe (which has an int. boost) and it worked fine!

So my question is, what happened and why did this happen?

Edit: Wait, I just noticed you posted in that thread, so I must be missing something :confused:
If you mean that the staff worked with that armor equipped before the recent patch (not today's), but did not work after, it is probably because a number of pink items had their requirements raised.
